Chapter 19 Backfired
What rotten luck, being stuck on the same team as Gianna.
Patricia called her out by name, so Gianna couldn’t escape.
With visible disgust, she pinched a tiny fish between two fingers. Smack! The fish flicked its tail right across her face.
“Ahhh!” she shrieked, hurling it away. It landed squarely on a little girl passing by, sending the child into tears.
The cameras caught every second. The livestream chat exploded.
[Unbelievable. That’s too much.]
[If that’s how she treats a child, it tells you everything about her character.]
[Seriously, the difference is night and day.]
[She had us all fooled before. Guess you never really know someone.]
[Kick Gianna out of the show already!]
Gianna wanted to scream.
Was this whole place cursed?
Nothing went her way.
God, please let the viewers have missed that.
After that mess, nobody wanted to buy fish from their stall anymore.

Meanwhile, Amelia’s side had already sold out completely. Customers lined up, waiting for her to gut and fillet fish on the
spot.
Her movements were smooth and efficient, the knife flashing in her steady hands. Even the stall owner gave her a thumbs–up. “Girl, you’re better at this than I am.”
Amelia smiled, wiped the sweat off her brow. “You’re flattering me. How could I
The chat went insane.
[Help! How is wiping sweat this hot?!]
[She’s killing me–cool, tough, and gorgeous.]
[How did we not notice Amelia’s charm before?]
On the other side, Cianna’s agent was on the verge of a breakdown.
compare with you?”
Watching her client’s disastrous performance on the screen, her hands shook with fury. “That idiot! Do you know how much the company invested to build her up?”
Even if it was her own company, sinking so much money into a lost cause was enough to make her bleed inside.
By the end, Amelia’s stall had the highest sales, winning her team first pick of dinner ingredients.
That night’s haul was the best they’d seen in days: grouper, crab, giant shrimp.
Cooked by Amelia’s hands, it became a seafood feast.
She didn’t keep it to herself–she let everyone cat.
For once, Gianna kept her mouth shut.
Now, only one last mission remained before the reality show wrapped.

Word was, this one would be the hardest yet. No one knew if they’d make it through.
At the Nygard Residence, the family was busy plotting over the company.
Thirty percent of the Nygard Group’s shares still sat in Amelia’s hands.
All they could think about was how to get them back.
With Amelia away filming, the whole family huddled together, scheming.

That evening, Emery brought it up casually. “By the way, hasn’t Gianna been gone for about a week now? Shouldn’t she be coming back soon?”
“Yes, Mom. Just one more day,” Marcelo replied.
He’d been swamped with company affairs, leaving Gianna’s situation in her agent’s hands.
Nothing seemed wrong so far.
“Didn’t that show have a livestream? Put it on the big screen–I want to see how she’s doing,” Emery said, sounding eager.
Marcelo grabbed the remote and switched it on.
But instead of Gianna shining, the first image was Amelia–cool, steady, handling a live fish with precision–while Gianna stood off to the side, face twisted in disgust.
“What–what’s this?” Emery’s expression darkened instantly. “Why isn’t Gianna doing anything?”
