Chapter 203 Wouldn’t Really Do That to Me

On the surface, Gianna looked obedient and sensible, but in reality, she wasn’t as easygoing as Marcelo had imagined. She wasn’t the kind of person who made life simple.
The gap between what he expected and what he saw, along with a tiny spark of awareness, made him even more irritated.
And it seemed like every time he tried to help her, things only got worse.
Now, with his future as heir at risk, it seemed like Gianna was only thinking about herself. She never even once considered what might happen to him.
The more Marcelo thought about it, the angrier he got. He had had enough of politeness and soft words.
Finally, he shouted, “You’re doing it whether you like it or not! If you don’t go, get out of the Nygards!”
Gianna stared at him, completely shocked.
She had never expected Marcelo, who had always pampered her, to say something like this.
He actually told her to leave the Nygards!
Just then, Miguel and Maxwell came back, with Emery right behind them.
When they saw Marcelo and Gianna in the middle of a tense argument, they froze for a
moment.
Gianna’s eyes were red, her usual bright gaze now shimmering with tears.
Her eyes were red–rimmed, her nose slightly pink, and her lips trembling. She looked as if she were trying hard to hold back her emotions.
Tears swirled in her eyes, threatening to fall down her fair cheeks at any second.
Her face looked hurt and stubborn at the same time, making anyone who saw her feel a pang of sympathy.
Seeing her like this, everyone instinctively assumed Marcelo had bullied her.
Gianna was too kind and strong to cry like this for no reason.
“Marcelo, what’s going on? Gianna’s been through so much already. What did you do to upset her again?”

“If something’s wrong, just say it. Don’t take your work frustrations out on Gianna.”
Even usually quiet Miguel couldn’t stay out of it.
He rarely got involved in Gianna’s business and usually let Maxwell and Marcelo handle things. But that didn’t mean he didn’t care about her.
In fact, he was the one least affected by Gianna’s screw–ups and had always thought highly of her.
He was the only one among the three brothers who had never doubted Gianna.
Now, he was sure Marcelo was the one making her life difficult.
“That’s right, Marcelo. If something’s wrong, just talk. Don’t make Gianna cry.”
Emery watched Miguel gently wipe Gianna’s tears and felt something odd, though she couldn’t figure out what.
Finally, she sat down, took Gianna’s hand, and asked softly, “Gianna, what happened? Did Marcelo have a bad day and take it out on you?”
“No, no, I’m fine, Mom. Don’t blame Marcelo—it’s my fault,” Gianna replied.
Being surrounded and protected like this made her feel like the center of the world again.
She shook her head and pretended to be kind, unwilling to say anything bad about Marcelo. She didn’t explain what happened, just quietly took all the blame herself.
She knew that even if she said it was all her fault, they wouldn’t believe her.
Sure enough, Emery was unconvinced. “No way this is your fault. Tell me honestly—did Marcelo lash out at you?”
Gianna hesitated, biting her lip.
“Just tell us. We’re all family–it’s okay to talk about things,” Emery coaxed.
“Yeah, Marcelo usually cares for you the most. Just explain, and we’ll sort it out together,” Miguel added.
With each reassuring word, Gianna felt satisfied. This was exactly what she wanted.
