People always side with the weak–and since Gianna hadn’t done anything truly unforgivable, playing the victim was her best bet.
She’d barely arrived when Amelia and Selena showed up with Patience, perfectly timed to make an entrance.
“Fashionably late,” in this case, meant just a few minutes behind everyone else.
Right on cue, Gianna’s hired online trolls started flooding social media, posting comments like [Amelia’s acting like a diva again,] and [Even if she’s the one being apologized to, she shouldn’t be so disrespectful.]
But the smear campaign didn’t land–no one bought it. The public didn’t see Amelia or her team in a negative light at all.
In fact, Amelia and Selena looked effortlessly radiant.
Their makeup was soft and refined, bringing out their best features, and their outfits perfectly suited their styles–classy, elegant, and confident.
Amelia especially stood out. She was the kind of beauty who could pull off any look; her face had that striking, cinematic quality that demanded attention.
Next to her, Gianna’s glow dimmed instantly.
“Ms. Gianna looks absolutely gorgeous today! No wonder she’s the queen of showbiz.”
“Ms. Amelia, over here! Give us a smile!”
Just minutes ago, the photographers had been focused on Gianna. Now they were practically tripping over themselves to flatter Amelia and her group.
Watching it all, Gianna felt jealousy burn like acid in her chest.
Marcelo caught the look on her face and silently observed.
Before, he would’ve rushed to defend her, but now, he didn’t even flinch. He just gave a short, cold laugh under his breath.
Then, in a low voice only she could hear, he said, “Aren’t you supposed to be apologizing? The longer you drag this out, the worse it gets.”
He spoke softly, so the media missed it. But Amelia, standing nearby, didn’t.

Chapter 211 Quiet Surprise
That jerk actually said that to his darling sister in public? He has to be up to something.
There’s no way he is doing this out of concern for me. He must have another plan brewing.

Gianna herself was stunned. Marcelo had never spoken to her like that before, especially not in front of an audience.
Isn’t he supposed to scold Amelia, then comfort me afterward?
She quickly convinced herself he was only holding back because of the crowd, that he didn’t want to make her look bad in public.
After a few silent pep talks, she calmed down a little.
Putting on her most graceful face, she straightened up, smiled confidently at the cameras, and turned to look at Amelia and her team.
Then she glanced over at Marcelo, signaling that she was ready to start.
Marcelo immediately caught on and took the lead, stepping forward to address the room in his usual composed, professional tone.
“Hello, everyone, and thank you for coming. Nygard Entertainment has organized this press conference to give the public an explanation.
“Regarding Ms. White’s involvement as Gianna’s vocal double, the incident caused a great deal of controversy online. We’d like to provide full clarity.
“In the past, we handled things poorly. Gianna, who is tone–deaf, still insisted on pursuing that dream. As both her brother and the company’s CEO, I gave in–and that led to the current situation and its consequences.
“For this, I want to sincerely apologize to Ms. White and to my real sister, Amelia. I hope Nygard Group can earn your understanding as we work to make things right.”
Marcelo spoke calmly, every word dripping with sincerity.
But anyone listening could tell that he was throwing Gianna under the bus.
He’d pinned the entire mess on her while subtly highlighting that Amelia was his real sister, his tone warm and affectionate whenever he mentioned her name.
It was a calculated move to publicly mend their relationship and silence the rumors about their estrangement that had been circulating in the industry.
