Chapter 227 She Took Everything

Was Amelia still not satisfied? Did she somehow find out Gianna was trying to get into Nygard Group, and now she was rushing in just to compete again?
Of course. Amelia had always been her curse.
She can’t help it. She’s been too visible lately, too high–profile. And Elian, the one shareholder who has the most sway, is one of Conrad’s people. He’s always backed Amelia without question,” Regina muttered.
Just hearing Elian’s name left a bad taste in Regina’s mouth. She hated that man almost as much as Raymond did.
Honestly, with Raymond’s power and influence, getting rid of Elian shouldn’t have been that hard.
The man was only a minor shareholder, not even a key decision–maker.
But Raymond always insisted that Elian was indispensable when it came to the cultivation and management of their medicinal plantations. He’d inherited Conrad’s full knowledge of the process, and that made him too valuable to toss aside.
If they kicked Elian out, or worse, if some opportunistic rival company managed to poach him, Nygard Group’s grip on the herbal monopoly would be in serious jeopardy.
Regina scowled inwardly. She couldn’t help thinking bitterly how ridiculous it was that Raymond had failed to learn that part of the business herself. And now, because of that, they were stuck relying on Elian.
“Then just have someone get rid of him. It’s not like you don’t have the means,” Gianna said without hesitation, like it was the most obvious solution in the world.
She didn’t know exactly who Regina’s backers were, but she’d always known that her mother or whoever was behind her was far from ordinary.
“Now’s not the time,” Regina said curtly, clearly not interested in explaining further.
Gianna had been sheltered for too long. She wasn’t good at hiding what she was really thinking, and she had a bad habit of letting things slip.
Sure, Regina had taught her how to manipulate Emery and those three sons of hers, but that was easy. They were soft targets.
The real problem was the rest of the Nygards, Amelia and Ursula especially. Those two weren’t idiots, and they couldn’t be easily fooled.

If Gianna blurted out something she shouldn’t to the wrong person, it could open up a whole
new mesk
Lately, she’d started to notice something else too. Raymond, the man she’d always believed was completely under her thumb, might not have been what he seemed after all.
She couldn’t say for sure yet, but something about him had started to feel off. There were moments when his words and actions didn’t line up, and she found herself second–guessing what used to be predictable.
Now that damn girl Amelia won’t let up. She’s started tracing things back to me. She even found out about the drug I gave you.”
That was what Regina feared most.
The reason Amelia had been able to see through Gianna’s moves so clearly, Regina was convinced, had everything to do with that medicine. Amelia not only knew about it but also seemed to understand exactly how it worked.
And because of that, she’d been able to predict what Gianna would do next. That’s how she’d seen through their plan so effortlessly.
What made it worse was that Amelia didn’t seem to be acting alone. Someone was helping her -someone smart. Someone with the ability to trace the drug’s origin, dig into its deeper connections, and possibly even uncover Regina’s true identity, or worse, her network.
Whoever was working with Amelia had serious investigative skills. If this kept up, everything could be exposed.
Regina’s eyes flashed with a cold, bone–chilling cruelty.
Her pupils narrowed, and a dark, violent energy gathered behind her brow. In an instant, her entire presence shifted–sharp, dangerous, lethal.
“So what now? Want me to just have someone take her out?” Gianna asked casually, like she was suggesting lunch.
“Yes. I think it’s time someone did.” Regina’s voice was flat, almost calm.
She hadn’t wanted to go that far before, not because she lacked the means, but because of Raymond.
Amelia was his biological daughter, after all. Maybe he could turn a blind eye to her being manipulated or sidelined, but having her killed? That might be a line he wouldn’t ignore.
Especially now, Regina had started to feel something was off with him too. She couldn’t explain
