Gianna bit her lip. She had practiced the art of looking helpless for so long that tears. automatically welled up in her eyes.

After a long pause, she huffed, “Fine. I’ll listen to you.”

Regina finally let out a silent sigh of relief.

She nodded with satisfaction, a glint of cruelty flashing in her eyes.

“Don’t worry. Amelia ruined our plans, and she will pay for it.”

Even as she spoke, Regina was already calculating her next move. A perfect candidate came to mind.

“You want me to take care of Amelia for you? You’ve got some nerve. So now you’re trying to use me for your dirty work?”

A man’s deep voice came from a private booth somewhere hidden.

Regina chuckled softly. “I’m just helping you get rid of a problem, that’s all. You wanted her gone anyway, didn’t you?”

Inside the upscale restaurant, Regina sat elegantly on a leather chair, her seven–centimeter heels crossed neatly under the table.

She couldn’t risk acting directly, so having someone with a similar target was perfect.

He could do the dirty work while she stayed safely in the background. If things went south, no one would trace it back to her.

She had to be cautious–Amelia was sharp, fast, and backed by powerful people.

Any misstep could destroy everything.

But if she succeeded, she’d eliminate Amelia and clear the path for her own ambitions.
