The man’s sharp eyes darted around the room, filled with cold calculation. He seemed to be weighing the pros and cons.
After a brief silence, he finally nodded. “Fine. We’ll do it your way?”
Regina smiled. She wasn’t surprised he agreed.
She had known from the start that the biggest winner in all this wouldn’t be her–it would be him.
As expected, the press conference destroyed Gianna’s image.
Her public persona collapsed overnight, and she was now blacklisted from the entertainment world. No one wanted to work with her anymore.
Unless some miracle happened, Gianna had no chance of making a comeback anytime soon.
Amelia was quite satisfied with that outcome.
She could already imagine Gianna, desperate and cornered, turning to the Nygard Group for help.
Even if it wasn’t Gianna’s idea, it must have come from the person secretly guiding her.
And as luck would have it, Amelia was also planning to show up at the Nygard Group soon.
If Gianna went there too, that would make things even better.
Amelia loved keeping Gianna under her thumb.
How fun.
After a bit of digging, Amelia discovered that Gianna’s college major was pharmaceutical research and plant cultivation.
She found that hilarious–such a dull, technical field didn’t match Gianna’s flashy, attention- seeking personality at all.
Clearly, someone had planned that path for her long ago.
Gianna had been laying out her moves from way back, and Amelia realized this whole thing might be part of a much bigger game involving the Nygards.
Funny enough, Amelia’s own background happened to be in the same field.

The more she noticed how their lives kept overlapping, the more amused she became.
Lately, Amelia had been in a great mood. After finishing up at her company one evening, she planned to head to Josie’s place. Tonight, she was going to drink and unwind with her friends.
She smiled at the thought. A few glasses of wine, some laughter–it sounded perfect.
But just as she stepped outside, a familiar man pulled up in front of her.
“Where are you taking me?”
Amelia sat in the passenger seat, glancing curiously at the man beside her. She hadn’t expected him to show up.
He didn’t answer right away, just focused on driving.
Her patience wore thin. “I asked you a question,” she said, her tone showing a hint of
annoyance.
Only then did he speak, his deep, magnetic voice filling the car. “Wanna grab a drink? Relax a bit?”
Amelia frowned slightly. She hated not knowing what someone had planned for her. That sense of losing control always made her uneasy.
But when she looked at his sharp, handsome profile, her irritation faded a little.
Honestly, if she could look at a guy like him every day, her stress and migraines would probably disappear completely.
The scenery outside the window blurred as they drove. Amelia’s thoughts drifted far away until the car finally stopped in front of a familiar spot.
He had brought her to a quiet lounge bar.
She’d been here before–it was one of those exclusive, members–only places where privacy was everything.
The lounge was owned by Corva Group. It was designed for upper–class young people who wanted to relax and hang out away from the spotlight.
This alcohol–free bar had a cozy and elegant setup, giving off a calm and relaxing vibe— nothing like those noisy, crowded bars downtown.
The interior was tastefully designed, with soft lighting and gentle background music that made the whole place feel soothing and comfortable.
