Chapter 232 Untouchable
Turns out both Anderson and Jeremy were just as sharp–tongued. Amelia couldn’t help laughing even though she hadn’t said a word.

“Amelia, this is what you wanted, isn’t it?” Vincent snapped, his face red with frustration. “You love it when men defend you and fight over you. Makes you feel important, huh?”
Anderson and Jeremy had both roasted him so badly that Vincent didn’t dare to argue back. So, he turned his anger toward Amelia instead.
“Hah, I’ve been way too nice to you,” she said coldly. “Who do you think you are?”
Amelia, never one to back down, shot him a look of pure disdain. “We’re not that close, Vincent. Don’t start something here. Stop pestering me.”
“You think I want to?” Vincent barked, his voice shaking with anger.
He glanced at Jeremy again, his mind filled with disbelief. What did Amelia even see in that guy?
Sure, he is taller, more handsome, fit, and has money, power, and influence.
But is that really worth throwing everything away for?
Amelia used to care about Vincent the most. She used to listen to him, follow his lead, and only have eyes for him.
When had she become this shallow? This … materialistic?
That man is only playing with her!
And when he dumped her, she’d be the one crying!
“Hey,” Jeremy said lazily, breaking the tension, “stop staring at me like that. I like girls.”
“I wasn’t … That’s not what I meant!” Vincent stammered, his face turning red.
He was so angry he could barely breathe.
“Mr. Curran, Mr. Corva,” Gianna suddenly stepped forward, trying to smooth things over. “Please don’t be so harsh on Vincent. He’s my fiancé now. He and Amelia have nothing to do with each other anymore.
“Don’t get the wrong idea,” she added, forcing a polite smile. “The only reason Vincent cares is because both Amelia and I are from the Nygards. He just sees her as family, that’s all.”

Gianna was used to being the center of attention. Yet tonight, she had been standing there for ages, and no one even looked at her.
Now, everyone was arguing because of Amelia. It made her furious.
What made her even angrier was that her own fiancé was caught up in the argument–and it was over Amelia.
I can’t believe this! I’m so mad I could scream!
But she swallowed it down and kept her fake smile in place.
And then Anderson jumped in again, not bothering to hold back.
“Who do you think you are?” he sneered.
“A foster daughter, calling yourself a Nygard? Please. Even those idiot brothers of hers don’t claim her anymore, and you think she’d claim you? Have some shame!”
“You!” Gianna started to retort, but Anderson cut her off.
“What? You still want to talk? You’re really good at stirring up trouble, huh?” he said coldly. “Only an idiot like Vincent would fall for your act.”
Vincent froze, his face twisting. He hadn’t even said anything, and yet somehow he’d just been dragged into this.
Why am I the one getting blamed? I didn’t even start this!
Anderson noticed him staring and smirked. “What? Why are you looking at me like that? I like girls too, man.” He backed up a few steps dramatically.
Amelia couldn’t help but smile. She was actually impressed. Maybe she could work with Anderson someday.
If she ever ran into more annoying people like this, she could just call him to handle them.
Meanwhile, Gianna was burning with jealousy and frustration.
She didn’t understand why all these great men were standing up for Amelia.
Her own fiancé couldn’t even defend her–he just stood there, speechless, watching her get
humiliated.
For the first time, Gianna felt real regret. Maybe she shouldn’t have rushed into being with Vincent.

Sure, he came from a good family–the Desters were well–off–and he was clean–cut, didn’t smoke or drink, and except for being a total mama’s boy, he didn’t have bad habits.
