Patience gave her a sharp look, clearly annoyed. “You always say that. You ended up in the hospital and scared us half to death. Next time, you’d better tell us right away!”

Josie added. “Patience is right. We’re like family. You have to let us know if something happens.”

Seeing her two closest friends so worried made Amelia’s heart feel warm. She took their hands and said, “Okay, I promise.”

Truthfully, she had her reasons for keeping quiet.

It wasn’t just a normal car crash. Someone had been pulling strings behind the scenes.

She was worried she would pull her friends into the mess, and that would just make things

worse.

Even though Jeremy tried to keep it under wraps, word still spread that the two of them had ended up in the hospital.

Soon, people in their circle started showing up to play nice and act concerned.

He walked off, and everyone followed.

Gianna could barely hold back a snicker, secretly pleased with how things were going.

The more Amelia pushed back, the more the Nygards would hate her.

That was exactly what Gianna wanted.

When they all got in the car, she still had that smug little grin.

Maxwell, sitting beside her, noticed. “Gianna, why are you smiling like that?”
