Still, no one kept questioning her. They all tolerated her sudden little tantrum about running away from home.
And what happened in the end?
Amelia didn’t appreciate their concern at all. She didn’t care about the sleepless nights or all the effort they’d put into finding her.
Instead of being grateful, she kept giving Gianna a hard time and refused to accept her.
Gianna had been like a burst of sunshine after Amelia left, chasing away all the sadness that had filled their lives.
Her presence brought laughter and warmth back into the house, reminding everyone what happiness felt like.
Sure, she wasn’t doing great in showbiz, but the joy she brought to the Nygards was something they’d never forget.
Amelia, on the other hand, was just too small–minded and jealous for her own good.
“Gianna, stop talking about that brat. She ruins the mood.” Maxwell sighed.
He had tried to make peace with Amelia, to put the past behind them. But now, he was done wasting energy on someone who didn’t care.
“Yeah, even a rock softens after a while. If Amelia still can’t appreciate what she has, then forget her. Just pretend she’s not even part of the family.”
Miguel overheard the conversation and got just as angry. He felt the same.
He used to be close to Amelia.
Back then, she understood a lot. She noticed he stayed up late studying legal codes, and she’d make him different soups to help him relax and focus.
She even realized he sat too long at work and got neck and shoulder pain, so she learned how to give him proper massages.
Every time his neck aches these days, Miguel can’t help but remember how good those massages felt.
No professional therapist had ever been able to match her touch.

Gianna often offered to help, but it just wasn’t the same.
Amelia even made her own herbal essential oil that worked wonders on sore muscles.
Now that their relationship had fallen apart, those comforting days were gone.

Miguel missed being cared for like that and couldn’t help resenting Amelia for being so cold- hearted.
They were family. Why couldn’t she just accept Gianna? Why did she have to make everything such a big deal?
So when the others started complaining about Amelia, Miguel naturally joined in.
He had actually planned to visit her at the hospital and use that as a chance to patch things up, but she wasn’t even there.
All his good intentions went to waste, and he felt like she didn’t appreciate any of it.
Amelia couldn’t blame him for favoring Gianna a little more.
“You guys
shouldn’t talk about her behind her back. She’s still your sister,” Emery said from the front seat, clearly upset by their words.
She was already frustrated and wanted nothing more than to drag her daughter home and scold her properly.
But Amelia was still her daughter, her own flesh and blood. No matter how much trouble she caused, nothing could change that.
Emery could yell at her, punish her, or try to set her straight, but it wasn’t her sons‘ place to badmouth her.
And definitely not Gianna’s. That girl was adopted, and daring to talk about the Nygards‘ real daughter like that was just too much.
Emery hadn’t caught every word Gianna said earlier, but she knew she’d spoiled her over the past few years.
Still, with all the drama Gianna had stirred up lately, the family already had enough to deal with. Now she was even gossiping about Amelia with her sons.
That made Emery feel uncomfortable, no matter how she looked at it.
Meanwhile, Raymond and Marcelo were in another car heading straight to the office.
Emery couldn’t help wondering how those two would’ve reacted if they’d heard the others
