Amelia’s fingers froze. She lifted her eyes toward the dazzling Jace on stage, then looked back at her phone, unsure how to reply.

Josie leaned over for a peck, her eyes going wide. Jeremy?

Amelia fumbled to lock the screen. Seriously? Don’t snoop on people’s phones!

Josie grinned like she’d struck gold. He asked you if JK’s body looks better than his? Oh my gosh, that’s a death trap of a question!

Amelia’s ears turned red. She shoved her phone into her bag. Cut it out. Watch the show.”

Josie smirked mischievously. So who do you think looks better?

Amelia clamped her mouth shut.

Up on stage, Jace suddenly winked in their direction.

Josie squealed, Ahhhh! He just looked over here!

Amelia’s phone buzzed again inside her bag.

She took a deep breath and pretended not to notice.

No matter how she answered, it felt like a trap.

Still, she couldn’t shake the strange feeling that Jeremy was somewhere in the crowd too.

But that didn’t make sense; he wasn’t the type to enjoy loud concerts or screaming fans.

Just as the thought crossed her mind, she felt a piercing gaze land on her.

Her heart skipped. She looked up toward the VIP section on the second floor and spotted a tall figure standing by the railing. The lights were behind him, hiding his face, but the silhouette

Her heart thudded.

Jeremy?

No way. It can’t be.

He’s actually here.

Amelia grew panicked for no reason.

It felt like she’d just been caught doing something wrong, like she’d betrayed him somehow.

But she wasn’t doing anything wrong! She was just here watching a concert, fair and square. So why did she suddenly feel so guilty?

Josie followed her gaze and blinked. Wait a sec, that guy looks kinda like Mr. Curran! Wow, never thought he’d be the type to chase celebrities too!

Amelia quickly looked down, pretending not to see him. Still, her heartbeat wouldn’t calm down.

What’s he doing here?

On stage, Jace’s performance was coming to an end. The music slowed, his breathing heavy as he lifted the mic. This last song.he said with a charming smile, is for all of you tonight. Did you have a great time?

The whole crowd went wild again. YES!

Amelia barely heard them. Her fingers tightened around her purse strap, her mind spinning.

Something about this moment made her uncasy.

Josie leaned closer, whispering with a teasing grin, Amelia, don’t tell me you’re feeling guilty?

I have nothing to feel guilty about,” Amelia snapped back stubbornly, trying to sound firm.

Then why do you keep sneaking looks at the second floor?Josie smirked. Afraid someone’s getting jealous?

Amelia’s cheeks burned. She shoved Josie lightly and muttered, Focus on your hot guy and stop talking

nonsense!

Right then, her phone vibrated again.

Amelia hesitated, then pulled it out to check.

Jeremy wrote, Meet me in the parking lot after the concert.

Amelia had no words.

Of course. The one thing she was afraid of just had to happen.

He was really here.

She took a deep breath, trying to calm herself. Relax, Amelia. You’re not doing anything wrong. You’re just here with a friend.

Josie caught a glimpse of the message and grinned wickedly. Oh boy. Someone’s going to be in trouble tonight.

Amelia pressed her lips together, pretending to stay cool. He probably just happened to be passing by.”

Josie raised a brow. Really? That’s a little too convenient, don’t you think? Did you even tell him you were coming here?

Amelia fell silent.

She had a bad feeling about this.

When the concert ended, Amelia said goodbye to Josie and headed to the parking lot alone.

The cool night breeze brushed against her face. She pulled her jacket tighter, but her heartbeat only grew

faster.

From a distance, she spotted a familiar black Maybach parked under the dim lights. The window was half- down, and through the gap, she could see a man’s sharp, cold profile.

Amelia took a deep breath and walked toward it.
