Amelia’s heart skipped a beat. She tried to move away, but he held her firmly in place.

Oh great. There’s no way to explain this!

“… Let me go.”

Amelia struggled, her wrists turning red under his grip.

After a long moment, Jeremy finally seemed to realize what he was doing. He loosened his hold, his fingertips brushing lightly against her lips as his voice dropped low. “If you ever dare stare at another man like that again, you’ll face the consequences.”

Amelia’s cheeks burned. She muttered under her breath, “You’re so controlling.”

Jeremy snorted coldly. He started the car and said flatly, “Only with you.”

Amelia stole a glance at him. His sharp jawline was tight, his lips pressed into a hard line. He was clearly in a bad mood.

She hesitated, then spoke softly, “Honestly, I was just there with Josie. I don’t even like JK.”

It was true. She never cared for those flashy, flirtatious types.

Even though she worked in the entertainment industry, she barely knew any male celebrities. She could count them on one hand.

Jeremy tapped his fingers on the steering wheel. “Oh really? Then why were you watching so intently?”

Amelia’s ears turned red. “I was spacing out!”

He raised a brow. “Spacing out? While staring at a half–naked man?”

That rebuke rendered her speechless.

Okay. There’s no way to talk my way out of that one.

She decided to shut up before she made it worse.

So what is our relationship exactly?

Under the night sky, the black Maybach slowly pulled out of the parking lot.

Moments later, from the shadows nearby, a man stepped forward.

He watched the car drive away, eyes glinting with satisfaction. Then he pulled out his phone and sent the photos he had just taken.

After staking out the place all night, he finally had something worth reporting.

Wade received the message almost instantly.

He narrowed his eyes, staring at the photos of Jeremy and Amelia sitting close together in the car. A cold smile crept across his face.

“Well, well. Didn’t expect my dear nephew to be the sentimental type.”

He sneered. “Sick as he is, he still finds time to fool around with a woman?”

Wade had originally hired the private investigator to track whether Jeremy had found Dr. Ace, He hadn’t expected this bonus.

He tapped his fingers against the table and murmured, “Looks like this woman means a lot to him.”

For a man as cold as Jeremy to care that much about someone–this was definitely a first.

Leigh glanced at the photo and sneered. “They look close. Is Jeremy actually serious this time? Maybe he finally realized his days are numbered.”

Wade gave a cold chuckle. “Even heroes fall for a pretty face. But this might actually work to our advantage. Now that he has a weakness, it’ll be easier to deal with him.”

Leigh’s long red nails traced across the photo, stopping right on Amelia’s face. “She’s a pretty one, I’ll give her that. No wonder she’s got him wrapped around her little finger.”

“Fools ruled by emotions never make it far,” Wade said darkly. “If he cares about this woman so much, then we’ll make good use of her.”

Leigh’s eyes gleamed with malice. “You mean …

Wade’s tone turned icy and calculated. “No rush. First, dig up everything about her–who she is, what she does, and how close she’s gotten to Jeremy.”

Leigh nodded. “And what about Dr. Ace?”

Wade’s expression hardened. “Keep looking. We must find Dr. Ace before Jeremy does.”

Without another word, he picked up the phone and called his private investigator.

This time, he swore he wouldn’t give Jeremy a chance to rise again.

Later that night, Jeremy drove Amelia home. Just as he stopped the car, his assistant called. “Mr. Curran, I just got word that Mr. Wade’s people are searching for Dr. Ace, and they’ve also started investigating Ms. Amelia.”

Jeremy’s eyes darkened. He spoke calmly, “I see. Keep our people on them. Report anything unusual immediately.”

“Yes, Mr. Curran.”

Jeremy hung up, his gaze fixed ahead, thoughtful and grim.

So, Uncle Wade is finally making his move.
