“It–it wasn’t me … ” Gianna tried to deny it. The moment she saw the staff hand over the tablet with the footage, she couldn’t argue with the evidence.
On the screen, everyone could clearly see her scattering the nails along the track.
The crowd gasped in shock. People started whispering all around.
“Oh my gosh! Gianna is wicked!”
“If Ms. Amelia wasn’t such a skilled rider, she’d be in the hospital right now!”
“Are the Nygards blind? They actually adopted someone like her?”
Amelia looked at Gianna coldly. “Gianna, it’s time to keep your promise.”
Gianna’s legs gave out. Tears welled in her eyes. “Vincent …” she choked.
But Vincent turned his face away, refusing to look at her.
“Are
you going to admit your defeat or not?” Amelia’s tone was calm but carried an authority that silenced everyone.
Jeremy’s eyes swept across Amelia’s bleeding palm. His gaze abruptly turned cold. “Ms. Amelia, need help?”
Gianna trembled under everyone’s disgusted stares. Finally, she stepped forward and picked up. the whiteboard.
She had no choice. She forced herself to hold up the whiteboard.
Her lips were trembling with rage and humiliation.
Amelia stood tall, her voice sharp as ice. “Gianna, remember this lesson. Next time you pick a fight, I won’t be so nice.”
Gianna gritted her teeth. Nice? This is her being nice?
“Hey, Amelia,” Demi leaned forward with a grin. “She hasn’t said sorry yet.”
Gianna’s face burned. In the end, she whispered reluctantly, “I’m sorry.”
Amelia gave her a cold glance and turned to leave,
As she held the reins, a sting shot through her palm. Amelia frowned slightly, but she didn’t

Jeremy’s gaze darkened again. He strode forward and blocked her path. “Your hand’s hurt. It needs to be treated.”
“It’s fine.” Amelia gave him a cold glance.
“If you don’t clean it, it’ll get infected. You’re a doctor; don’t you know that? I’ll ask someone to bring us the medical kit.” Jeremy’s tone left no room for argument. He reached out and gently but firmly grabbed her wrist.
Amelia instinctively tried to pull away. She paused when she met his deep eyes.
Just then, Vincent rushed over.
“Amelia, I’ll take you to the hospital!” he said eagerly, desperate to make himself useful.
Jeremy shot him a cold look. “Mr. Dester, maybe take care of your lady first.”
Vincent stiffened. He turned toward Gianna. He saw her looking fragile and tearful; he sighed but stayed silent.
Gianna clutched his sleeve, crying, “Vincent, I didn’t mean to! It was an accident!”
At that moment, Maxwell hurried over.
Maxwell had just run into a friend and gone to the track’s VIP lounge for tea and small talk.
When he came out, he heard there had been trouble at the arena.
The moment he caught the name Gianna, sweat broke out on his back.
“Gianna, what happened? Are you okay?” he asked quickly.
“Maxwell, you’re here. I–I’m fine,” Gianna said pitifully. “I lost the race. Amelia is making me apologize.”
“What? That’s outrageous! How could she do that?” Maxwell snapped.
But around them, the crowd broke out in boos.
“Disgusting! Stop playing the victim!”
“Yeah, she proposed that bet herself. Now she loses and suddenly acts like she’s the victim here?”
“Exactly. Where was all this fake weakness when she tried to frame her rival?”
