If anyone ever exposed the lip–syncing, Gianna’s whole perfect image would crash overnight, and all that fame she built on a fake voice would disappear instantly.
So, when her career was at its peak, Gianna announced she needed surgery for vocal cord issues and couldn’t sing anymore.
At the height of her fame, she cleverly bowed out, leaving everyone with the memory of her at her very best.
Honestly, it was a pretty smart move.
But deep down, Gianna felt guilty.
That was why, whether on TV or in everyday life, she never brought it up.
Ironically, staying quiet made people admire her even more.
Meanwhile, Selena was trapped. Locked into contracts and pressured by the Nygards, she could never sing again.
All she could ever do was work behind the scenes, writing songs and music for other artists- never seeing her own name on anything released.

For her, it was heartbreaking. Singing had been her whole purpose in life, and now it was gone..
But what could one person do against the power of the Nygards? In the end, she could only swallow her tears and go along with it.
That was why Patience said Selena was the most tragic of them all.
Tony and Rocky may have been treated unfairly, but at least their work was seen and recognized.
“I know how to help Selena,” Amelia said firmly. “That’s why we have to get her on our side.”
She was sure she could win Selena over.
Out of all the people they were considering, Selena was her trump card.
If Gianna had dared to use a ghost singer, then she had to be ready for the day that truth came
out.

Amelia felt sorry for Selena, admired her talent, and also knew this was the perfect chance to strike back at Gianna.
One way or another, she would make sure Selena joined her company.
Patience nodded. “Absolutely. Selena’s talent speaks for itself.
“Her songwriting is amazing. If we bring her in, it’ll give our music division a massive boost.”
Their company would rise fast–more hit songs, more star artists, and of course, more money.
The thought of it made both of them smile.
They lifted their wine glasses again and clinked them together.
The next morning, Amelia was jolted awake by her phone ringing nonstop.
“Amelia, get back to the office right now! I’ve got something important to tell you.”
The second she picked up, that annoying, familiar voice came through.
It was Maxwell.
She had already blocked all her so–called family, but this time, he used someone else’s number.
“And just because you say so, you expect me to come running?” Amelia snapped.
Being woken up put her in a foul mood, and her voice was sharp.
“I’m your brother. If I tell you to come back, you don’t get to say no. Don’t forget–you’re still under contract.”
Maxwell sounded smug; he was sure she couldn’t resist.
But Amelia wasn’t having it.
“Yeah, no. I’m hanging up.” She brushed him off, not even bothering to take the contract seriously.
“Wait!” Maxwell panicked, knowing she really would hang up, and quickly added, “I pulled strings to get you into the Popular Model Contest! Don’t be ungrateful!”
He acted like he was handing her a gift.
Amelia just let out a cold laugh, like she’d seen it coming.
“How generous. I’ll deal with it when I wake up.” And she hung up.
