Patience set her wine glass down, her eyes lighting up. “Wait. You’re saying you want to steal talent from your brothers‘ company?”
Amelia replied, “Exactly. They only care about Gianna, their precious little sister. Everyone else gets ignored.
“Unless some artist has big connections and flatters them nonstop, they’ll never get noticed. Most of the talented ones just get buried.”
And even the few who weren’t totally sidelined were only used to make Gianna look good. They never actually got a real shot.
“Right. Nygard Group does have some solid veterans, and seasoned talent is huge for building a
company’s reputation early on. It brings both attention and credibility.”
Patience, who used to work under Maxwell at Nygard Entertainment, knew the company inside and out.
Now, Amelia’s first move in reclaiming Nygard Group and tearing it apart from the inside would start here.
The company that had once shown so much promise had slowly gone downhill under Marcelo’s leadership.
Their grandfather had built that empire, and Amelia was determined to protect it.
“Yep. I already have three people in mind: Tony Wright, Rocky Reeves, and Selena White.”
Patience froze when she heard those names.
She remembered them clearly.
And with good reason—each of them had been wrecked in one way or another because of Gianna.
Tony was a brilliant screenwriter, especially gifted at writing patriotic, feel–good movies.
Patience had read one of his scripts once–it was gripping, emotional, and stirred a powerful sense of pride in the audience.
But Gianna shot it down, saying patriotic films weren’t trendy or glamorous enough and took too much effort to shoot.
Even though Patience and even Maxwell thought the script was amazing, the project was

Then Maxwell and Marcelo forced Tony to switch to writing cheesy city romances, a genre he wasn’t good at, and all the projects tanked once Gianna starred in them.
The brothers blamed Tony and tossed him aside.
Like the others, he was stuck in a ten–year contract with brutal penalties for leaving.
He couldn’t move to another company, so his career stalled completely.
In this industry, time equals money. By the time ten years had passed, even if he was free, making a comeback would be nearly impossible.
Then there was Rocky, a crazily talented fashion designer.
He had the skills to make it big, designing jaw–dropping looks for numerous stars.
But thanks to Maxwell’s small–minded attitude, he ended up stuck here.
Maxwell was a stylist himself, and he was way too sure of his own skills and full of pride.
The second he noticed Rocky was stealing the spotlight, he couldn’t handle it.
So he kept finding excuses to hold him back, basically sidelining him, too.
On top of that, Gianna always backed Maxwell, nitpicking Rocky’s work until it drove him nuts.
Both of them were crazy talented in their own fields.
And with those massive contract penalties hanging over him, Rocky couldn’t leave. So, he just had to swallow his pride while his work and ideas got shot down over and over.
“Honestly, Tony and Rocky were completely wasted by the Nygard brothers,” Patience sighed.
She still couldn’t believe she’d once been so blind that she actually loved Maxwell.
“But the one who got it worst has to be Selena,” she added.
Amelia agreed completely.
Selena had been Gianna’s ghost singer, the voice behind her lip–syncing.
Hardly anyone knew that except the Nygards and Patience.
Patience knew it because she had been dating Maxwell back then and was also managing
Gianna.
