“If I hadn’t, how else would I know you were trying to kill my mother?”

Vivian felt all her strength drain away. As the maid pulled her from the room, she didn’t even resist.

“I heard something happened with Mrs. Cullinan.”

“Of course. Things are about to change here.”

“No wonder so many people were at the manor today, moving things. So Mrs. Cullinan was taken down. That means Miss Vivian is truly cornered now.”
