Vivian replied: “He told someone named Tyson to do it. I don’t know exactly when, but it should be within the next couple of days.”
The moment Eliza saw that name, she froze in surprise.
Tyson was Nolan’s uncle. Usually quiet and unassuming–how could he be involved in something like this?
Instinctively, Eliza turned to look at Nolan. Clearly, he didn’t know either.
If Tyson really was part of this plot, did that mean Cramer’s influence had already seeped into Westbrook as well?
Just then, a new notification popped up on her phone.
Elaine and Tyson were preparing for their wedding. The ceremony was scheduled to take place in a month at the Westbrook International Hotel.
Reading that, Eliza felt even more uneasy.
Tyson was after power. With the marriage, he would secure greater support from Hayes Corp, and with Elaine’s family fortune, the Lynn estate would soon fall neatly into his hands.
Meanwhile.
At Tyson’s new villa.
A maid guided Elaine into the freshly decorated home.
The lavish décor was far beyond anything she’d ever had before. Tyson had even asked her opinion and designed everything to her liking.
Even Elaine, usually so hard to please, couldn’t help but brighten at the sight.
“Mr. Hayes really cares about you,” the maid said with a smile. “We’ve never seen him put so much effort into anyone before.”
Elaine’s cheeks flushed at the words. “Tyson isn’t back yet? Has he seen the new place?”
For so long, she had suffered cold indifference from Nolan. Now, for the first time, someone had placed her wants at the center of their plans.

“Mr. Hayes should still be in a meeting,” the maid replied. “But he’ll be home soon. He won’t miss your birthday.”
It was Elaine’s birthday. Tyson had promised her a surprise, and she hadn’t expected this.
What girl could resist? Not only had he announced their wedding date, but he had also given her a home of her own.
It was proof–so she thought–of how much he cared.
Elaine smiled. “Go to the kitchen. I want to cook for Tyson myself.”
The maid noticed the change. Elaine no longer called him “Mr. Hayes,” but simply “Tyson.”
“I should call him too,” Elaine added, taking out her phone.
But Tyson was still in his meeting. When her call came through, Julio glanced at the screen and, seeing it was Elaine, promptly hung up.
Elaine frowned at the rejection.
The maid rushed to smooth things over. “Mr. Hayes must still be in his meeting. Don’t misunderstand.”
“You’re right. He’s busy with work. I shouldn’t distract him. I’ll just start on dinner.”
Elaine was completely caught up in the illusion of Tyson’s devotion.
Meanwhile.
When the meeting ended, Julio stepped forward. “Mr. Hayes, Ms. Elaine called earlier.”
“What for?”
“Likely nothing serious. She should have seen the new house by now. Probably wanted to talk about it. Should we head back tonight?”
“No need.”
