Naomi was startled by her brother’s sudden scolding.

Nathaniel walked quickly to the bedside, tore off the quilt, and pulled Naomi out of the quilt without

mercy.

Naomi looked at her brother, who was full of anger, and asked fearfully, “Nathaniel… what… What’s wrong with you? Why… Why are you so angry?”

Before she could finish speaking, Nathaniel raised his hand and slapped her hard.
