Seriously? These guys really thought they were heartthrobs? Thought they were charming, loyal, and irresistible? Please. They had none of thatbut still expected women to fall for them just because they acted entitled. That’s not love. That’s straightup flirting with a felony.

Before Nathaniel could say a word, Estella cut him off, her voice sharp and clear.

Take one more step and see what happens. I’ve got cameras at my front door. My neighbor’s a lawyer. I’ve got a taser and pepper spray, and if I have to, I’ll grab a kitchen knife and protect myself. If you get hurt, that’s selfdefense. Don’t think you can use some fake emotional excuse to cover up harassment. It won’t work.

Nathaniel hadn’t expected her to be this ruthless.

He sobered up fast.

He glared at her and muttered coldly, You’re going to regret this, Estella.”

Estella shot right back, Noyou are.

Nathaniel turned and stormed off, completely humiliated.

Once he was finally gone, Estella stepped back inside, locked the door, and opened her security app. She sent the video footage to Isabelle with a short message. Keep your man in check.

Isabelle watched the clip, her blood boiling with jealousy.

She wanted to confront Nathaniel but was scared he’d get annoyed.

After the party that night, she’d actually planned to spend the night at Nathaniel’s place.

But he’d turned her down.

He said he was tired and just wanted to sleep.

Isabelle didn’t want to push itthings had only just started to settle. So she agreed to give him space, trying her best to be the supportive girlfriend.

Little did she knowNathaniel had gone to see Estella.

She was lividbut swallowed it.

The next morning, Nathaniel woke up at home.

He heard someone making breakfast downstairs.

Zelda, the maid, always got up carlybut she should’ve been done with breakfast by now.

So who was down there?

A spark of hope flickered in his chest. He rushed down the stairs.

Isabelle was at the table, carefully arranging plates and utensils.

The moment she saw him, her face lit up. She rushed toward him with a bright smile. Nathaniel, you’re up!

He frowned slightly. He glanced at her, disappointed.

She wasn’t Estella.

His voice turned cold. What are you doing here?

The words hit hardflat, emotionless. His tone was flat, like she was just some stranger who’d wandered into his housenot his girlfriend.

But Isabelle didn’t let it get to her. She smiled sweetly and replied, I came to have breakfast with you, of course! And then we can head to the office together. Wouldn’t that be nice?

She gave his sleeve a gentle tug, eyes filled with affection and anticipation.

Nathaniel pulled away, clearly irritated.

Isabelle’s smile faltered, but she kept it on her face. Then, like she just remembered something, she said in a soft, teasing voice, Nathaniel, can you give me a key to your place? That way, I won’t have to bother Zelda every time I come over.

She looked up at him, full of anticipation.

But Nathaniel had no intention of handing over a keythis place still held pieces of Estella, and he wasn’t ready to let that go.

He didn’t hesitate. That won’t be necessary. It’s not like you’ll be spending the night here anyway.

The words hit her like a slap. Her excitement drained instantly. The cold truth in his tone stung more than she wanted to admit.

They were supposed to be dating, but Nathaniel still treated her so coldly. The way he looked at her, spoke to herit hurt.

Do I really mean that little to him? she wondered.
