Isabelle liked Estella’s idea, but something didn’t sit right. She frowned. “Why are you even helping me? If I back him into a corner and treat this like a business deal, won’t it just push him further away?”
Estella waved it off. “Honestly? I’d love for you two to get married and stay stuck with each other forever. Right now, you don’t have his love–or even his attention. But if you follow my advice, at least he won’t be able to leave. That’s something, isn’t it?”
Isabelle nodded slowly. “You’re right. I’ll think about it some more.”
She was about to say something else when Estella casually checked the time on her phone and turned the screen toward her. “Time’s up. You want to pay for more?”
Isabelle scowled. “Seriously? Are you that obsessed with money?”
Estella gave a soft laugh. “I’m running my own business now. Everything costs money- including my time. If you don’t want to pay for it, feel free to leave.”
Frustrated but not ready to give up, Isabelle transferred another 10,000 dollars.
She crossed her arms and muttered, “Tell me more… What’s he been like these past three years? I’ve been away so long, I barely even know him anymore.”
Estella raised an eyebrow but agreed.
Once she finally got Isabelle out the door, Estella let out a long sigh and took a sip of her coffee.
Just then, Selene walked in, curiosity all over her face. “What was Isabelle doing here? Don’t tell me she showed up just to stir up drama.”
Estella gave her a relaxed smile and shook her head. “Don’t worry. She didn’t cause any trouble. But…”
She went on to tell Selene everything Isabelle had said–and asked for.
When Estella finished, Selene’s jaw dropped. “Wait, wait–what? She was Nathaniel’s mistress and made your life hell, and now she’s showing up asking for your help to win him back? She’s got some nerve.”
Estella sighed quietly. “I’m not doing it for her. I’m doing it for me. Nathaniel is relentless. If Isabelle can actually keep him busy, that’s a win for me. At least I won’t have to deal with him anymore.” She paused, her voice softening. “And honestly? Isabelle’s kind of sad. She’s bending over backward, doing everything she can just to hold onto a guy who’s a complete loser. It’s pathetic.” She shook her head slowly, thoughtful. “I used to believe love and marriage were the

answer. That if I just found the right person, everything would fall into place. But after the divorce, I learned the hard way–love doesn’t hold your life together. Money does. When your have your own, that’s when you’re really in control.”
Selene chuckled. “Alright, alright–don’t go all doom and gloom on me. There are still good guys out there. I mean, come on… Mr. Bennett?”
Estella couldn’t help but think of Jonathan–polished, reserved, and always put–together.
The corner of her mouth twitched into a smile, but she didn’t say a word.
Before Selene could tease her more, loud voices suddenly echoed from the front lobby.
Estella quickly stood and followed Selene out into the hallway.
At the front desk stood a woman dressed in flashy designer clothes, with fury written all over her face.
She didn’t care who was watching–she shouted at full volume, “Which one of you is Estella? Tell her to get out here now!”
The energy in the room shifted instantly. Tension rose as staff and students alike turned to stare at the scene.
Estella heard the commotion and stepped forward calmly. She looked the woman in the eye.
“I’m Estella. Can I help you?”
She didn’t even get to finish her sentence.
Without warning, the woman grabbed a cup of water off a nearby table and flung it right at Estella.
Water splashed all over her face and clothes.
Everyone in the room froze.
“You shameless b*tch!” the woman screamed. “You went after my husband, and now you’ve got the nerve to stand here pretending to be some respectable music teacher?”
Estella wiped her face with her hand, drenched and stunned.
