The Invisible Wife Turned Savage novel Chapter 45

Chapter 45 Drawing the Battle Lines

Estella’s request? Jonathan was more than happy to oblige.

He stepped forward, grabbed Nathaniel by the collar, and shoved him toward the door.

Nathaniel glared at him. “This is between me and Estella. Jonathan, this has nothing to do with you! Mind your own damn business!”

Jonathan sneered. “Did you not hear her? She doesn’t want to see you. Let me give you a word of advice, Mr. Nathaniel-stop hurting her, and start taking care of your own mess.”

Nathaniel opened his mouth to argue, but Jonathan didn’t give him the chance. He threw him out and shut the door behind him.

Nathaniel, furious, raised his hand to bang on the door.

No way would he let Estella and Jonathan be alone together.

Just then, his assistant called. “Mr. Nathaniel, there’s been an incident at the company.”

A terrible premonition hit him like a wave.

For now, he had no choice but to put Estella and Isabelle aside. He turned and rushed to the company.

Inside the room, Jonathan noticed Estella looked exhausted. He poured her a glass of water and helped her lie back down.

“If you’re tired, rest. I’ll take care of everything else. You don’t have to worry.”

Estella’s heart softened. She couldn’t help but compare.

Nathaniel had been talking about getting back together-but all he did was hurt her.

When she and Isabelle were both injured, he chose to protect Isabelle and leave her behind.

Even now, with her still recovering, he came not to care for her-but to force her to apologize.

Jonathan, on the other hand, had no obligations to her. And yet, he put her comfort first

The contrast only made Nathaniel look worse.

If she ever got back together with him, she really would have to be brain-dead.

Jonathan noticed she couldn’t fall asleep and began telling her a story.

His voice was deep and calm. As she listened, Estella slowly drifted off.

Once she was fully asleep, Jonathan gently tucked her in and left the room.

He pulled out his phone and called Jeremy.

Jeremy, I’ve got some dirt on the Hartwell and Monroe families. Get someone to stir things up. I want their stock prices to take a hit.”

On the other end, Jeremy let out a low whistle. “Yesterday you had me sabotage two of Hartwell Group’s projects. Today you want their stock to crash. Damn, Jonathan, didn’t think you were this vengeful.”

Jonathan’s tone was ice-cold. “They hurt my person. They deserve everything coming to them.”

Jeremy nearly choked on his own breath.

My person?

Hah! Jonathan had officially claimed Estella!

Looks like their mother’s dream of gaining a daughter-in-law.might actually come true this year.

If Estella was going to be part of the Bennett family, then as her future brother-in-law, Jeremy would make damn sure no one laid a hand on her.

“Don’t worry,” he said. “I’ll make this real messy for them.”

At the hospital, Mary came to visit her daughter.

When she saw Isabelle’s arms and face covered in bandages, she trembled with rage.

“That little tramp! I swear I’ll ruin her.”

She gently touched her daughter’s head and frowned. “Where’s Nathaniel? You’re hurt like this, he should be by your side!”

Isabelle winced just speaking. “He was here, but something came up at the company. He had to leave.”

Mary’s face twisted in anger. “What’s more important than you? Does he even take your relationship seriously?”

“Mom, stop yelling at him,” Isabelle said gently. “He’s busy with business. It’s not like he’s off chasing some other woman. If he does come back, just don’t scare him off, okay? What if he never returns?”

Mary huffed. “You’re not even married yet and you’re already defending him. You two have been seeing each other forever. When’s he going to make it official? Want me to go pressure him?”

Isabelle felt a wave of irritation.

If only she hadn’t gone wild three years ago… if only she hadn’t abandoned Nathaniel when he was at his lowest. He’d still be wrapped around her little finger.
