“You!” Victoria snapped. “Fine! Don’t go back if you don’t want to. Just don’t bother with me anymore.”

Nathaniel, seeing the rising tension between mother and daughter, jumped in, pretending to be the peacemaker. “Okay, okay, let’s all calm down. We can talk this through.”

Over the next two days, Estella remained distant and cold toward Nathaniel.

And with Nathaniel’s patience running thin, his visits to the hospital grew less frequent.

Still, though he stopped showing up in person, he called Victoria often, coaxing and flattering her until she was delighted every time they spoke.

Victoria, pleased by his attentiveness, once again began praising Nathaniel in front of Estella. But Estella said nothing in return.

That night, after wrapping up another long and exhausting business dinner, Nathaniel didn’t go home.

Instead, he went back to the club.

He’d had too much to drink-his steps were unsteady, and his vision was blurry.

When he finally saw Molly, he couldn’t help but mistake her for Estella.

Molly, seeing him return for her, buried her delight and leaned sweetly into his arms. “Mr. Nathaniel, you don’t seem too happy tonight. Something bothering you?”

As Nathaniel felt her soft body pressed against him, his eyes reddened slightly at the corners.

He reached out slowly and stroked her delicate cheek, whispering, “Estella… don’t leave me again, okay?”

Molly had heard that name multiple times now. She didn’t know who it belonged to, but she understood her job.

She was an experienced lounge hostess-trained to play along, no matter who the client thought she was.

So she answered in a docile voice, “Don’t worry, Mr. Nathaniel. I’ll never leave you.”

After all, Nathaniel was generous-his nightly tips were generous enough to make anyone eager

Molly made up her mind: she would do whatever it took to keep this client close, maybe even turn him into a long-term patron.

Nathaniel gazed at her with clouded eyes, then leaned down to kiss her.

Molly didn’t resist. She responded obediently.

When Nathaniel woke, it felt like someone had taken a hammer to his skull.

His head throbbed.

As he blinked through the haze and pieced together where he was, a crushing wave of regret surged up from his gut.

He stared around the unfamiliar room, struggling to recall what had happened the night before.

But his memory was like a shattered mirror-fragmented and distorted.

The only thing he knew for sure was that he had drunk far too much-and had ended up spending the night with another woman.

The realization hit him like a thunderclap.

If Estella ever found out about this, the consequences would be unimaginable.

Panicked, he scrambled out of bed, threw on his clothes, and fled the club in a daze.

Once in his car, he inhaled deeply, trying to steady himself. Then he pulled out his phone and dialed his assistant.

The moment the line connected, Nathaniel’s voice came low and urgent. “Meet me right now. There’s something important I need you to take care of.”

Soon after, his assistant arrived at the designated spot.

With a grim face, Nathaniel instructed, “Go to the club and talk to the woman named Molly. Offer her money-whatever it takes. I need you to make sure she keeps quiet about what happened between us.”

The assistant paused, caught off guard by the request-but nodded and headed for the club.

Nathaniel didn’t leave. He sat in the car, anxiously waiting.

Minutes passed like hours.

Finally, his phone rang.

He snatched it up instantly. “What did she say?”
