But after all, it was between husband and wife, and Chandler knew better than to meddle.
He couldn’t stand the way Landon spoiled Noelle, but that didn’t mean he actually wanted his buddy to suffer alongside him.
When Landon called out to her again, Zinnia couldn’t help but cringe at the sound. Still, she walked over and stood just outside the bathroom, asking, “What is it?”
“Can you get me a towel?” Landon’s voice echoed from inside, followed by another question: “Am I being too much trouble?”
Zinnia didn’t bother to answer. She just went into the master bath, grabbed a fresh towel, and walked back out.
Just then, Chandler’s phone chimed. He glanced at the screen—it was a message from Landon.
*Why aren’t you leaving yet?*
Chandler replied: *My wife’s still here. I’ll wait and go home with her.*
*No. Take your wife and go now.*
Chandler was about to type *No* when another message came in almost immediately—
*I’ve got nothing to wear. I’ll have to walk out here wrapped in a towel.*
Chandler: “!!!”
Unbelievable. Landon was shameless.
“Honey, it’s late. Let’s head home,” Chandler said, pocketing his phone and moving to Zoey’s side, taking her hand and gently pulling her toward the door.
It really was getting late, and Zoey had already been thinking about leaving. Still, she felt uneasy about leaving Zinnia alone with Landon.
“Why isn’t Landon leaving?” Zoey asked, frowning.
“He doesn’t have any clothes.”
Zoey: “…”
