Time-Limited Love: A Contract Expired, Not Renewed novel Chapter 318

“I have no idea how that man manages to show up at Zinnia’s side every single time. I could handle it when Zinnia hit me, but why does that guy get to lay a hand on me? It’s not fair…” Noelle sobbed, her voice wavering as she repeated Yuri’s name over and over, clearly hoping to plant a seed of doubt in Landon’s mind—that maybe Zinnia was cheating on him.

But Landon didn’t so much as glance at her swollen wrist. He just stood there, silent and unmoved, even after she finished talking.

Noelle’s crying faltered as she realized she was getting no reaction from him. She looked up, searching Landon’s face, and saw that his expression had grown even darker, a cold anger simmering beneath the surface.

Thinking her words had finally hit their mark, a glimmer of satisfaction sparked inside Noelle. She was convinced Landon was buying into her manipulation.

Just as she was about to press her advantage, Landon spoke at last—his voice icy and flat:

“So, what exactly did you say to make my wife so angry?”

Noelle’s next words caught in her throat. She stared at Landon, stunned, suddenly aware something was going very wrong.

Only now did she process what he’d said: “my wife.” Even though his tone was frigid, those two words were wrapped in an unconscious tenderness, a warmth she couldn’t mistake.

He wasn’t angry that Zinnia had hit her. He was angry because… she’d provoked Zinnia.

“I—I didn’t say anything, really, I only went to beg her for—” Noelle shook her head desperately, scrambling for an excuse.

“My wife doesn’t hit people for no reason. What did you say? Need me to call her and ask myself?” Landon’s eyes were cold and unyielding, and the chill in his voice made whatever fleeting hope Noelle had felt vanish instantly.

“No… it’s not like that, Landon, I swear…”

Noelle’s heart hammered in her chest.
