Time-Limited Love: A Contract Expired, Not Renewed novel Chapter 381

In the end, when Zinnia refused to back down, Zephyr had no choice but to agree.

Leaving the director’s office, Zinnia had just returned to the surgical wing when she spotted Chandler storming out of Zoey’s office, his face dark with frustration.

He paused when he saw Zinnia, a trace of bitterness creeping into his expression.

After a moment’s hesitation, he walked over to her and asked, “You signed up for medical relief work in Selvoria too?”

Zinnia didn’t answer right away, simply meeting his gaze with a puzzled look.

“Does Landon know about this?” he pressed.

Zinnia’s lips tightened. “We’re divorced, Chandler. Why would Landon need to know anything about my choices?”

She could guess why Chandler looked so troubled—he must have just found out that Zoey had also volunteered to go to Selvoria.

Caught off guard by her blunt response, Chandler fell silent. After a while, eyes slightly red, he spoke in a pleading tone, “Please… look after her for me. I’m begging you.”

Zinnia managed a small smile. “You don’t need to ask. Zoey’s my friend. Of course I’ll watch out for her.”

Chandler nodded, glancing back at Zoey’s office several times, clearly torn but knowing nothing he said would change Zoey’s mind. In the end, he gave up.

“Thank you,” he said quietly before leaving the hospital.

Zinnia stood there for a moment, watching his retreating figure, then made her way to Zoey’s office.
