Too Good for You: The Ex-Wife You Lost novel Chapter 121

Noelle coldly warned, "If Derrick throws a race for five million dollars, he'll likely be banned from the International Grand Prix for life. Are you trying to ruin him, Coach Burke?"

So, that was why Louis had taken Derrick away as soon as they'd arrived at the hotel. Now, she understood that they'd been afraid she and Alexis would find out about the thrown race.

Impatient, Louis snapped, "Don't preach to me. What makes you think Derrick doesn't know what he's doing?

"Everyone has different goals and decisions, Noelle. We're not stopping you from going to the International Grand Prix, so you don't have to meddle in our business either."

He clearly thought she was overstepping. Who did she think she was—a mere team member—to interfere in his affairs? And where did she get the nerve to give him that cold shoulder?

As he turned to leave, Noelle clenched her recording pen and calmly asked, "What if I hand this over to the intensive training camp?"

The recording pen played Louis and the Norland coach's voices from the restroom.

Louis was startled; he hadn't expected her to have evidence, but he wasn't too unnerved either. Instead, he shrugged as if nothing she did could bother him.

"Do you think you're some kind of hero? Have you asked Derrick what he wants? And do you think we're the only ones doing this?

"Even if you submit the voice recording, I can claim it's fabricated. After all, there's no direct evidence of a transaction, so an inspection team won't find anything even if they investigate." He laughed mockingly.

While Noelle's expression darkened, Louis smirked. "Don't be so naive, Noelle. Just mind your own business and don't stick your nose where it doesn't belong—other people's affairs."

With that, he turned and left without sparing her another glance.

Noelle hadn't expected him to be so arrogant. After several seconds of silence, her gaze slid behind the pillar, and she coldly said, "Come out. How much longer were you planning to eavesdrop?"

When there was no movement from behind the pillar, she crossed her arms and coldly warned, "If you don't come out, I'll call security and accuse you of harassment."

The air stilled briefly before Liam limped out from behind the pillar, looking embarrassed. "I didn't mean to eavesdrop."

Noelle relaxed slightly, then snapped back into warning. "Forget whatever you heard or saw here, or I'll break your other leg, too."
