Too Good for You: The Ex-Wife You Lost novel Chapter 125

The crowd roared with excitement.

Noelle's banners looked brighter and more dazzling than ever.

Removing her helmet, she had barely moved when Alexis came running at her in tears, throwing her arms around her with a sob. "Noelle…"

This time, Alexis had taken first place. But she knew exactly how she'd gotten it. This race would go down as the proudest mark on her record.

And it was Noelle who made it happen.

How could she not be moved? Without Noelle, she never would have made it through that cooldown lap. She probably would've lost first place altogether.

"Why are you crying already? We're nowhere near the end."

Noelle frowned at her. "What are you going to do when you make it to the international stage, cry your way through it?"

She patted Alexis on the shoulder. "You're a pro now. Time to learn how to control your emotions."

Alexis burst out laughing at her mock-stern face, forgetting even to wipe her tears, streaks all over her cheeks. She whined, "I don't care, Noelle. From now on, you're my idol. Whatever you tell me to do, I'll do it. I'll never go against you!"

Noelle never imagined one race could earn her such a die-hard follower.

Just then, Bonnie came over carrying a big bouquet. "Mommy, you were amazing!"

Even though Noelle hadn't taken first place, the audience had seen what she did. It was a proud moment for Stonegate.

People were already posting videos online, searching for clips, eager to share what had just happened.

"Thanks, Bonnie." Noelle pinched Bonnie's cheeks and kissed her soft face. "The flowers you picked are beautiful."

Bonnie snuck a glance over her shoulder.

Hunter was standing not far away, not coming forward. With a baseball cap pulled low, he kept his face hidden, making sure no one could guess who he was.

Noelle knew he didn't want to drag her into gossip and attention.

Once Bonnie handed off the flowers, she left with Hunter.

Noelle hugged the bouquet and walked toward the lounge with Alexis.

Suddenly, a shadow blocked her path. "Hi, Ms. Quinn. I'm David Anderson, a racing fan. Mind if we get to know each other?"

David was all smiles, but his eyes hid something scheming, giving him away as trouble.

Alexis instinctively looked at Noelle. The last time they'd raced him in that underground race, they'd humiliated him badly.
