Laura had no intention of getting involved in Shannon's and Felicia's mess. She looked at Felicia in disdain, saying, "Don't leave the house for the time being. I'll talk to Allan. Serving divorce papers just because he ran into a problem isn't the proper way to do things."
Most importantly, Allan's children weren't a threat since they didn't have the capabilities to fight for the position as head of the Haberkorn family. It was why Laura wasn't worried in the slightest.
Felicia was still crying when she took her leave, thanking Laura profusely. Once Felicia was gone, Laura asked, "It's obvious that this incident was aimed at Shannon specifically. Did she offend anyone recently?"
"She was removed from the intensive training camp because of Noelle Quinn," the housekeeper answered after mulling over his thoughts.
Laura's eyelid twitched. "Noelle Quinn?"
The housekeeper nodded. "The woman that Mr. Hunter fancies."
Laura smiled, but it didn't reach her eyes. "Noelle Quinn. It seems that she's not someone to be underestimated."
Although they didn't have enough evidence to prove that Noelle was behind this, Laura couldn't shake the feeling that Hunter had helped turn this incident into such a big deal for Noelle's sake.
"Turning on his own family because of a woman, Hunter truly is a fool who doesn't know his place."
Furious, Laura decided that she wasn't just going to stand by the sidelines and allow this to continue. Hunter had grown too bold and crossed the line.
…
It was drizzling in the cemetery, reflecting Noelle's current emotions. She had stopped in front of Nicola's gravestone, cradling a bouquet of flowers in her arms.
There was a picture of Nicola on the gravestone. Her bright smile in the picture looked especially vivid.
Noelle placed the bouquet down. She was wearing the braided hair tie that Nicola had made for her. She kneeled down and looked at Nicola's picture, saying, "Don't worry, Nicola. I won't let those who bullied you off the hook. I'll also win the International Grand Prix for you."
Shannon had been apprehended by the authorities. Her chances of escaping punishment were essentially zero, even if Allan tried to protect her. The public was still heavily criticizing her, after all.
On the other hand, Felicia had managed to avoid responsibility and escape scot-free from this incident. She had been Shannon's biggest supporter. There was no way that she could have escaped without the Haberkorn family's help.
"Allan and Felicia are trying to find out who the instigator behind this incident is. I've gotten rid of all the leads. They won't be able to trace it back to you."
Hunter was standing next to Noelle, shielding her from the rain with an umbrella. He was unwilling to see her in such low spirits.
