On the night of Thunderscape Group's anniversary gala, Clifford showed up in a tailored suit and took every step in confidence.

At his side, Lola was dressed in a soft pink gown, while Zayne was beside them in a tiny tuxedo and a little bow tie.

Though Zayne hadn't fully recovered and wasn't suited for such events, he'd been eager to come after Lola promised him that the anniversary gala would be fun.

Now, with the three of them standing together, they immediately sparked debates.

"Is that Mr. Fuller's wife? They look so perfect together, and their son is adorable!"

"I never thought Mrs. Fuller would be so young and beautiful. She looks like she's just graduated from college. She must take really great care of herself."

As their debates rang in Lola's ears, she watched Clifford carefully for any reaction. And when he made no move to correct anyone, her smile widened.

This was exactly why she'd brought Zayne here in the first place, so everyone would assume she was his mother.

Beside her, Zayne puffed up his chest in pride. Only someone as pretty as Lola deserved to be his mom.

Just then, a sleek, understated car rolled to a stop at the entrance of the ballroom. It wasn't a traditional business sedan. But in a crowd of auto industry insiders at the anniversary gala, who had at least a little understanding of vehicles, it was instantly recognized as the discontinued Marquis One.

Marquis One was a legend among luxury cars, with fewer than a hundred ever built, and was a statement of near-mythical status. Whoever stepped out of it was someone of immense importance.

A sleek high heel entered everyone's sight, followed by a tall, slender figure stepping into view.

Clifford froze where he stood. It was Noelle, who wore a sharp black off-shoulder dress with her long hair elegantly tied up. In her hand, she held a classic crocodile-skin clutch, and her presence was sharp and authoritative.

In that instant, Lola, standing beside Clifford, looked like an ordinary background attendant with a tray.

Clifford had never seen this side of Noelle, and even Zayne rubbed his eyes hard. He couldn't believe that the glamorous woman he was seeing was his mother.

Lola was the first to snap out of the stunned silence. She smiled and said, "Who would've thought Ms. Quinn would look so radiant after her divorce?"

Finally regaining his composure, Clifford looked at Noelle with condescending amusement. "Noelle, I know you can't let go of me and Zayne. What you're doing is just to prove your worth to us.

"Relax. If you stop this nonsense and come home as told, we're willing to forgive you for everything you've done."
