Too Good for You: The Ex-Wife You Lost novel Chapter 25

The rest were visibly shocked.

No one had expected Alexis to speak up on behalf of Noelle.

Noelle wasn't even here.

Besides, Alexis couldn't put up with Noelle, right?

Hazel huffed angrily. "Alexis, are you crazy? I didn't say anything wrong!"

Alexis let out a cold snort. "You can say her abilities aren't up to par, and that her stamina is rubbish, but demeaning her just because she has a child and is divorced?

"You're not insulting her, you're insulting all women. Won't you get married and have kids in the future?"

Hazel was rendered speechless. Before she could even react, Alexis had stormed out in a fury.

Looking aggrieved, Hazel protested, "I was just speaking up for her, wasn't I? Everyone knows she's waiting on Noelle's hand and foot like a servant. I can't believe she just yelled at me because of Noelle."

Jayden quickly consoled her, "Don't be upset, Hazel. Alexis is stubborn. She'll soon realize her mistake."

Hearing that, Hazel was finally satisfied.

Right after storming out of the multimedia room, Alexis came face-to-face with Noelle, who was standing at the door.

It seemed Noelle had just completed her extra training. Her hair was damp with sweat, and her cheeks were flushed. "Thank you for speaking up for me."

She was just passing by when she heard the argument inside.

She never expected that Alexis, young as she was, would be this righteous.

Alexis scoffed icily, "I wasn't helping you, so don't flatter yourself. My idol is Sheila, and she can't stand people who objectify or belittle women. I just couldn't stand the way she was talking, that's all."

After saying that, she strode away with her head held high, her ponytail swinging behind her, as though she held the same disdain for everyone else in the world.

Noelle snorted out loud, finding it rather fun to return to communal life again.

In the children's ward at Brindley Hospital, Zayne was finally ready to get discharged after two days of rest.

For the past two days, Clifford had been buried under work. One after another, the partners made it clear they wouldn't renew their contracts once they expired. He reached out to several car manufacturers, but every single one turned him down.

As a result, he didn't even have time to take care of Zayne.
