Nicola felt a chill run through her. She couldn't help but get the sense that Noelle had planned all of this from the start. Even her move to seek help from Noelle had been part of the plan.
She was a terrifying woman indeed!
"What? Aren't you willing to do that?" Noelle asked when she sensed Nicola's hesitation.
Nicola immediately shook her head. The three requests Noelle had made weren't exactly unreasonable. After all, Shannon had a bone fractured.
But if she did as Noelle told, Nicola was bound to offend everyone at Turbolt Racing. This would inevitably mean that they would be out to give her trouble, and life wouldn't be easy for her going forward.
She had tried reaching out to Shannon before this. But after learning that Nicola had been kicked out of Swift Racing, Shannon, perhaps fearing that Nicola would ask to join Turbolt Racing, turned her away thrice.
It was even possible that Shannon hoped Nicola would be sent back to basic training so that she wouldn't be a trouble to anyone.
The thought left Nicola feeling all sorts of peeves.
Nicola was neither the one who had taken action nor was she the one who'd planned things. So why was she the one bearing all the consequences while Shannon, the mastermind behind it all, felt no trace of guilt? And Shannon wasn't even going to extend her any help or offer her any sort of compensation!
Nicola made her decision right there and then. She was left with no other choice but to comply with Noelle's three demands. "I'll do it," she said.
The faintest hint of a smile graced Noelle's expression. "Go ahead, then. Come back to me after you're done with my three requests, and I'll make arrangements for you to join Flame Speed Racing."
So Nicola left, her expression a tangled mix of emotions.
Just then, Hunter, who had been standing behind Noelle, said in a raspy voice, "It seems like you're bringing someone into the team. Aren't you going to consult me about that? I'm the coach."
Noelle was startled. It was creepy how he'd just appeared without a sound. But she shrugged and said, "Well, tell me then, do we have a better solution than that?"
Noelle wasn't mean enough to kick Nicola back to basic training, but she wasn't about to let Nicola off so easily either. So, she made three demands of Nicola for everything she was out to get. Noelle would take it as a way to settle the matter of her injury once and for all.
Hunter was miffed. "The way I see it, you simply have no regard for me as your coach."
Noelle clearly knew that Nicola was his admirer and that Nicola had shown interest in him before, yet now, Noelle was letting her join Flame Speed Racing. In a way, wasn't Noelle showing him that she didn't care about him at all?
Knowing that she was in the wrong, Noelle put on a stern face and said, "Coach? What coach? You will always be my junior to me."
