Too Good for You: The Ex-Wife You Lost novel Chapter 47

A crowd gathered at the announcement board, and the place was abuzz with chatter.

"Those people from Turbolt Racing can't beat us in a decent match, so they resorted to such dirty tricks. A suspension is exactly what they deserve!"

Jenna was angry, but she also felt ashamed of herself. "Noelle competed and managed to earn us points even while she was injured, and yet all we'd been worried about at the time was that she'd drag us down. We were awful to her…"

Jayden felt bad, too. "Yeah, after she returned, she's been helping us train and giving each of us targeted guidance. I've improved so much because of her! Without Noelle, I'd probably still be stuck."

Everyone felt that Noelle had been through too much hardship and grievances as their captain.

Hazel, who stood behind them, gritted her teeth. She was secretly grateful the investigation into the anonymous chat group had been dropped. If anyone found out she was the one stirring up trouble, she would be the one under fire right now.

To cover her own tracks, Hazel quickly changed the subject. "Why has Nicola been assigned to Flame Speed Racing? Swift Racing has rejected her, and she was an accomplice in this whole mess. Besides, she's got terrible skills. It doesn't seem right to just dump her on us."

That one comment drew everyone's attention to Nicola's name on the list.

Jayden frowned. "Nicola's results are horrendous! Back in Swift Racing, she was always dead last. She'll just drag down our average if she joins Flame Speed Racing!"

Another racer, Felix Summers, agreed. "But transfers require approval from both the coach and captain of the team. Now that we've got an official announcement, wouldn't this mean that both Coach Haberkorn and Noelle have agreed on Nicola joining our team? But why would they do that?"

While they could understand why Hunter had agreed to the transfer, none of them understood why Noelle would agree to it. After all, Nicola had harmed her.

Hazel spoke again, her tone dripping with sarcasm. "Maybe Noelle just wants to look kind and forgiving. So she dumps Nicola here to prove her generosity, at our expense. That's not fair to us."

For a moment, everyone's expressions changed.

Then, Alexis, who had stayed quiet, cut in and said coldly, "Noelle has her reasons. All we need to do is trust her. The rest isn't our concern."

To her, the discussion was pointless. She'd much rather return to training. So, she turned and walked back toward the training hall.

Hazel watched her leave, then whispered to the others, "Of course she'll defend Noelle. Noelle treats her like the team's star player. I even heard that Noelle gives her private lessons. That's not the kind of treatment the rest of us get."
