Too Good for You: The Ex-Wife You Lost novel Chapter 57

Noelle had put on such a strong front just moments ago, but now her expression had completely changed. Was she even serious?

Elijah rubbed his temples in frustration. This whole mess was exhausting.

The members of Flame Speed Racing weren't willing to let it go so easily. They crowded around Noelle. "Ms. Quinn, are we really going to let this slide? We should find those two apprentices and make them confess. The evidence is right here! They'll have to admit it!"

"It was definitely Tina behind this. What's wrong with her? From the start, she's been targeting Ms. Quinn."

The team chattered on, and the noise gave Noelle a headache. She cast a measured, unreadable look around before saying, "Even if the apprentices confess, all they'll implicate is Tina. What good would that do?"

The entire incident had been a deliberate attempt to teach her a lesson. Denying her makeup was trivial, but leaving poisonous creatures in her room was meant to make her suffer. Had it escalated further, it could have been fatal. She could think of no one with whom she had such a deep-seated conflict. "Go back and rest. I'll take care of everything before tomorrow's shoot."

The group exchanged uneasy glances. They knew arguing further would achieve little and decided to follow her advice, though the incident would linger in their minds.

Hazel muttered in frustration, "Why does Ms. Quinn have to insist on showing off? Mr. Sutton said she'd get an explanation after the shoot, but she just had to prove herself. Now everyone's stuck in an awkward position. I don't believe she can resolve this by tomorrow morning."

It was obvious the car company wasn't on their side. There was no intention to discipline the apprentices. Otherwise, Tina and the two helpers would have already been dealt with. Realizing no one was listening, Hazel rolled her eyes and returned to her room.

Alexis put away the supplies Noelle had brought and looked around. Seeing that it was just the two of them, she whispered, "Ms. Quinn, you must've known those two apprentices would cause trouble, which is why you left your luggage in our room, right?"

Noelle gave a small nod and stood. Alexis quickly called after her, "Ms. Quinn, why don't you sleep with me tonight? The bed is small, but your room feels unsafe."

Even though the staff had cleaned up, there was no way to know if any poisonous creatures remained.

Noelle smiled faintly and waved her off. "No need, I'll sleep in the car."
