Too Good for You: The Ex-Wife You Lost novel Chapter 60

The two apprentices accused of deliberate poisoning were taken into police custody and faced three to five years in prison. Meanwhile, Tina was named as the instigator and was treated as the mastermind behind the crime.

However, Tina didn't dare expose the person behind her. She insisted it had been her own act of revenge. She knew very well that if she told the truth, her family would become the target of retaliation. Between those choices, Tina understood which was the lesser of two evils.

At the same time, Divine Group released an official statement. It announced that Donovan Turner, Regional Manager of the Olsington branch, had been suspended for embezzling company funds, abusing his authority, and damaging the company's image. His case had already been handed over to the police for investigation.

In the same announcement, Eric was promoted to Regional General Manager.

Donovan was punished, while Eric rose in rank. The real reasons behind these decisions were buried too deep for outsiders to ever understand.

After reading the notice, Noelle found herself rather satisfied.

Just then, a call came through. "Boss, I've completed everything you asked for. From now on, any car dealer in Stonegate who dares disrespect you is asking for trouble. Are you happy with the outcome?"

Noelle smiled faintly. "Thank you."

"What are you thanking me for? The president of Divine Group was more than willing to take action for you. That old fox has been waiting for a chance to deal with this kind of rot in the company. He simply took the opportunity when it presented itself."

Noelle stayed silent. The man clicked his tongue and continued, "When are you coming over to tune up my new car? The one you modified last time is still the envy of everyone around. Can you work your magic on this one too?"

Noelle raised a brow. "Are you asking me for a reward?"

"I wouldn't dare!" he said quickly. "Boss, whenever you have the time, even a few pointers would mean the world to me."

It had been a long while since Noelle last met up with her old teammates. Thinking of this, she agreed. "Alright. I'll let you know when I'm free."

The man sounded overjoyed, and after she hung up, another call came in. It was Eric who had been trying to reach her earlier while the line was busy.

Noelle answered, and Eric's apologetic voice came through the line. "Ms. Quinn, I am so sorry. It was my failure in oversight that allowed such an incident to happen during the shoot. I take full responsibility."

Eric knew perfectly well why he had been promoted. He had no real backing and had always been a mere representative for the business department in name only. However, he understood that his rise was directly tied to what had happened with Noelle.

Noelle rubbed her temples lightly. "You are a representative of the business department. Matters of the shoot were never your responsibility. You don't need to blame yourself."

Eric was moved nearly to tears. Noelle was far too generous.
