The people behind Noelle started murmuring to each other.
A voice rang out in the crowd. "Who even is this Number 7? Why does Mr. Lloyd rate her so highly? I can't believe he agreed to such a crazy term."
Another person added, "Who knows? Number 7 is supposed to be formidable, but her partner, Number 9, just lost the last race."
Most people here had never actually seen Noelle before. To them, she was just another new face, and they seriously doubted that she could handle David's dirty tricks.
After all, everyone saw what David's men did to Alexis.
Wilson muttered beside Raymond. "What if we actually lose, Mr. Lloyd? Are we really going to follow through with the agreement?"
If things turned out that way, it would be insane.
Raymond locked eyes with Noelle, his tone cut like daggers. "She won't lose."
The chill in his tone couldn't hide the resolve running beneath it.
For a second, Wilson thought his ears were playing tricks on him. "You can't be for real."
Raymond declared with conviction, "Number 7 doesn't lose."
He didn't know how good Noelle really was, but every instinct said victory would be hers.
Meanwhile, Wilson just shook his head, thinking that Raymond had lost it.
…
Noelle and Alexis walked up to the sports car. "Get in next to me. Let's go," Noelled ordered.
Alexis paused. She realized that Noelle was giving her a lesson.
She felt a deeper sense of gratitude toward Noelle grow within her. She could tell Noelle was teaching her with dedication, holding nothing back in an effort to help her grow.
If this were an official race, there would be no passenger seat. It would be just the driver and the navigator if the rules allowed it.
But since this was just an exhibition game with no official rules, all the vehicles were modified sports cars. No one could complain about Alexis riding along.
After carefully inspecting the sports car, Noelle finally got in. Alexis quickly took her place in the passenger seat. She looked even more nervous than Noelle.
She glanced over at Noelle, whose calm demeanor suggested that the race was hardly worth her attention. Somehow, she began to feel more relaxed.
