Too Good for You: The Ex-Wife You Lost novel Chapter 80

Wilson had been watching from the sidelines. He finally snapped, "Hold up, Number 7. What makes you so sure of yourself?"

Even though he was under Raymond's thumb, he knew that David running the club would mean trouble for him.

He couldn't believe Noelle actually wanted to settle this in one race. What made her so sure of herself? Where did Raymond pull this one from?

David shrugged like he couldn't care less. "Sure. I accept."

Anyway, most of the racers in the circuit were on his side. He was set to take Raymond down today, so he was feeling pretty confident about winning. "This is the final round. The winner calls the shots."

He grinned. "Beat me, and your terms are whatever you want. But if I come out on top, then it goes down the way I said earlier."

The prize was either control of the club or that modified sports car.

Noelle ignored Wilson and fixed her gaze on Raymond. He hesitated for a few seconds.

He had faith in her. The first time she raced for him, she smoked those guys. They might have been into racing, but they were nowhere near her level.

She kept her word from yesterday and got him a modified sports car. Its specs topped every other vehicle on the track.

Even though there had been a little hiccup in the last round, Raymond could tell Alexis was skilled. She simply lacked experience with unofficial matches.

That was why he only hesitated for a bit before his eyes hardened with determination. He told Noelle, "Alright. I believe in you."

Everyone present was stunned, including Alexis.

Alexis knew better than anyone how tough this race was. Her opponents were a pain in the neck, like the gum on the shoe that couldn't be shaken off. They wouldn't quit until they drove her insane.

Could Noelle really do it?

Noelle pressed David without mercy. "Then sign the agreement for our bet. Make it official with ink and paper. I want it to be legally binding so no one can weasel out. What do you say?"

David was convinced that Noelle was a moron. Who in their right mind was in such a hurry to sign their death warrant?

He threw his head back and laughed. "I can't believe there are people rushing to their doom. Alright. Don't mind if I do."

After saying that, he had someone draw up the agreement and bring it over. David signed first. Then, it was Raymond's turn.
