Chapter 125
Aveline felt there was something very wrong with this Charles. She had to find a reason to get rid of him.
She walked up the steps, and Charles told her meaningfully, “Ma’am, Mrs. Beltran is here.”
As soon as Charles finished speaking, Lauren’s stern voice came from inside the house, “Is she back?”
Charles quickly replied, “Yes, Mrs. Beltran, the missus is back.”
Lauren said sharply, “Then why isn’t she coming in? Is she too guilty to come in?”
Aveline wondered what Lauren was doing here and why she was saying such strange things, but she walked inside with a cold expression.
Lauren was sitting on the armchair in the living room, her hands on the armrests, glaring at Aveline with a grim face.
“Where have you been?”
Aveline said flatly, “Why are you here?
Xavier isn’t here.”
“I’m not here for my son, I’m here for you. I asked you a question, answer me.”
Aveline was unhappy with Lauren’s attitude. She was about to divorce Xavier, yet Lauren was still ordering her around. It was just bullying.
So she walked towards the stairs with a cold expression, ignoring Lauren.
Lauren got angry. “What’s with that attitude?
Stop right there!”
Aveline wouldn’t get into a shouting match with an elder, but she wouldn’t just stand there and take the scolding ei- ther, so she kept walking.
Lauren shot up from the sofa, pointing at Aveline. “You went running with Sebastian, you think I don’t know?
How could you do this to my son?”
Aveline stopped, turned to look at Lauren’s furious face, and then looked towards Charles.
Her gaze clearly showed she suspected Charles had told Lauren about her whereabouts.
Charles felt guilty and lowered his head, not daring to meet Aveline’s eyes.
Lauren also saw that Aveline suspected Charles. Since she still had use for him, she said, “Sebastian posted it on his

Social Feed, I saw it all. Taking such an intimate photo with a man and letting him post it on his Social Feed, are you trying to disgrace Xavier and our entire Beltran family?”
Aveline remembered that when Sebastian suggested taking a picture, he did say he would post it on his Social Feed. But there was nothing wrong with their photo; she was standing behind him, almost a full step away.
Lauren was just picking a fight over nothing, trying to find fault with her.
Aveline said, “It was a perfectly normal photo. I’m a modern person, not someone from ancient times.
I’m sure you have plenty of photos like that yourself.”
Lauren was still furious. “Don’t try to argue. Xavier goes for a run outside every morning, and I’ve never seen you go with him. You always stay in the gym. Why are you suddenly running outside with another man?”
Aveline had plans to have breakfast with Sebastian, and she really didn’t have time to get tangled up with Lauren, so she took out her phone and called Xavier.
Lauren pointed at Aveline, “What are you doing? Who are you calling?”
Aveline looked at her coldly and put the phone to her ear, but it only rang a few times before the call ended. Xavier had clearly hung up on her.
Aveline frowned.
Just then, Charles said, “Sir.”
Aveline looked towards the door and saw Xavier walk in, still in his workout clothes.
Xavier glanced at Lauren, then looked at Aveline and smiled, “What’s the big deal that you decided to call me?”
Lauren said, “Xavier, what are you doing here?
Did you also know that Aveline was out running with Sebastian?”
Aveline said coldly, “This is the big deal I called you about. You handle it.”
