Now, can you get out?”
But Xavier just looked at her with a deep gaze and said, “You’re a married woman now. It’s understandable that the elders don’t like you getting close to other men. You should just keep some distance, no need to butt heads with them.”
Aveline laughed. “Your family’s elders are really something else. They only have this rule for me, not for their own family.”
Xavier gave a faint smile, said nothing more, and turned to leave.
Aveline waited for him to leave the master bedroom, then quickly walked to the door and locked it.
Quickly changing into some clothes to go out, Aveline hurried out of the master bedroom and went downstairs.
Xavier and Lauren were having breakfast in the dining room. Helena came out and said to Aveline:
“Ma’am, aren’t you having breakfast?”

Aveline replied to her, “No, thanks. I’m eating out.”
Lauren raised her voice. “What’s that supposed to mean? You’re not happy to eat with this old woman?”
Xavier’s weary voice said, “Mom-”
Aveline ignored the mother and son and hurried out the door. She had already been delayed and was worried about keeping Sebastian waiting.
Why did Xavier come back to Parkview Estates for no reason? Shouldn’t he be at Jacob’s villa with Josephine?
Aveline used to waste her energy trying to figure out Xavier’s thoughts, but not anymore. It was pointless trying to understand him; she’d get nothing in return.
She drove to the seafood restaurant. Sebastian was already inside. She quickly apologized,
“I’m sorry, something held me up.”
Sebastian smiled, stood up to pull out a chair for her, and said, “It’s fine, I just got here myself.”
Aveline said thank you and sat down, a strange feeling in her heart,
If it were Xavier, he wouldn’t be this considerate.
If she were late, Xavier would definitely give her a look, and he had never pulled out a chair for her.
She, on the other hand, often pulled out his chair for him.

Aveline quickly pushed the thought of Xavier out of her mind and said, “Mr. Harmon, have you ordered yet?”
Sebastian smiled faintly. “Aveline, how long are you going to keep calling me Mr. Harmon?
Until the project is over?”
Aveline gave an awkward smile. “It’s just a habit.”
“Call me Sebastian, or just ‘bro‘ like Fiona does.”
Aveline thought for a moment. She felt just using his first name was a bit disrespectful, but calling him ‘bro‘ was too intimate.
“Then I’ll call you
Sebastian.”
Sebastian smiled. “That works.
The Seafood Risotto and Crispy Seafood Pancake here are really good, so I only ordered those two. If there’s anything else you want, feel free to order it.”
Aveline replied, “No, that’s fine. Since it’s my first time here, I’ll just try their signature dishes.”
The restaurant owner himself, along with a waiter, brought over the Seafood Risotto and Crispy Seafood Pancake. The owner knew Sebastian, as he was a regular customer. They exchanged a few pleasantries, and he glanced at Ave- line a few times before leaving.
Aveline tried the Seafood Risotto, then the Crispy Seafood Pancake, and nodded. “It’s really delicious, such a fresh flavor. I wonder if Fiona has tried it?”
Sebastian laughed. “I wanted her to come and try it, but you know her, she always sleeps in. She actually managed to join me for a run the other day, but the owner had a family emergency and wasn’t open, so she missed out.”
Aveline smiled, took out her phone to take a picture, and then posted it on her Social Feed, intending for Fiona to see

Seeing this, Sebastian asked, “Sending that to Fiona?”
Aveline laughed. “It’s no fun to send it to her directly. I posted it on my Social Feed.”
