Xavier’s voice turned slightly cold. “The lawsuit has been filed. If they want to argue, they should do it in court. What’s the point of arguing at a construction site?”

“Gerald is her lawyer. What the hell is he doing?”

“Are they brainless? Running into Crestmark’s construction site to cause trouble. You think Sebastian would let them off?”

Hearing the tone of his voice, Josephine thought he sounded angry, but she couldn’t tell who he was angry at. She quickly choked up a little.

“Xav, don’t be mad. Gerald was just trying to help our paternal cousin, but he didn’t expect my sister to be so unrea- sonable.”

“Xav, can’t you help our paternal cousin?”

Xavier replied, “She has Gerald helping with the lawsuit. The surveillance video isn’t very clear, so it probably won’t be a big deal.”

“Your sister is just letting off some steam. Once the court makes a ruling, this whole thing will be over.”

Josephine asked tentatively, “Do we really have to go to court?

With your status and influence, maybe you could…”

At this point, she figured Xavier would understand what she meant.

Xavier replied coolly, “Maybe I could what?”

“If it were you, I’d help. Devin, Vincent, and Eileen are too impulsive. They deserve to be taught a lesson.”

“I have a business dinner. I’m hanging up.”

“Oh, darling, when are you coming back?”

“This afternoon’s flight.”

After saying that, Xavier hung up the phone.

He looked up at Claude Steele, who quickly replied, “Mr. Harmon just arrived. The secretary has already shown him to the private dining room.”

Xavier stood up and walked out of his office to attend the business dinner.

Aveline, Jasmine, and Julian were having lunch at the Beltran Hotel.

Jasmine was in a great mood. “This is awesome. I can’t believe the police issued a detention order right away and are holding Devin and Eileen for three days.”

Aveline smiled faintly. “They barged into Crestmark’s construction site to cause trouble. With one call from Mr. Har- mon, the police were bound to punish them severely.”

Julian looked at Aveline, frowning slightly. “Aveline, you need to reflect on how reckless you were.”

“Devin is a man. Even if you were holding a broom, what if he had snatched it and hit you back?”

“A broom won’t kill anyone, but it would be terrible if it scratched your face.”

Aveline quickly poured Julian some tea. “Julian, I was being impulsive. Thank you for stepping in front of me.”

“At the time, I was thinking it would be better for me to have a conflict with him than for you and the security guards to. In front of the police, it could be passed off as a family dispute.”

Jasmine scoffed, “Eileen was at the local police precinct, holding a mirror and crying that her face was ruined. It’s hi- larious.”

Aveline smiled faintly without saying a word.

Eileen’s face did indeed have a thin, bloody scratch from the broom, but it wasn’t so exaggerated as to be disfiguring. The worst–case scenario would be a faint mark left after it healed.

Josephine is rich. She could ask Josephine to pay for cosmetic procedures for her. That little mark could be complete- ly removed.

Jasmine had the same thought as Aveline, and she chuckled, “After she gets out of detention in three days, have Josephine pay for her plastic surgery. It might be good to fix that vicious face of hers.”

Aveline’s expression turned cold.

A person’s face reflects their heart. Eileen’s viciousness was bone–deep; it couldn’t be fixed.

Just then, her phone rang. Aveline took it out of her purse and saw it was Xavier.

[You’ve sent three members of the Sutton family to detention. Who’s next?]

Aveline’s eyes grew cold. She put her phone down, ignoring him.
