Urging Him to Get a Divorce novel Chapter 259

Aveline’s face fell. She turned and glared at him. What do you mean?

You just said we’d talk after the birthday banquet?

Xavier gave her a deep look but didn’t say anything. He had only put on his pants, no shirt, and walked toward the bathroom.

Then, Aveline heard the sound of running water.

Xavier was washing up.

Aveline knew getting angry was pointless. She told herself to calm down; in the end, she would just have to sue.

She drew the curtains, then quickly took off her pajamas and changed into some clothes to go out.

Xavier’s phone, which he had left on the bed, started ringing again. Aveline glanced at it and, thanks to her good eye- sight, saw the name Josephine.

It rang for a while, but since Xavier didn’t come out to answer, Josephine gave up, and the ringing stopped.

Xavier came out of the bathroom and saw that Aveline had already changed. She was wearing a beige longsleeved T- shirt and baggy jeanssimple, comfortable, and suitable for a construction site.

She was opening the curtains, and the morning light streamed in, making her face look bright and radiant.

Xavier stared at her as he put on his white shirt, not saying a word.

Aveline turned around, grabbed her purse, and gave him a cold look. She was waiting for him to leave so she could leave.

Xavier put on his suit jacket and said flatly, I’m the man you saved, and I’m also your husband, not your enemy. That look in your eyes could freeze water.

Aveline couldn’t be bothered to say a single word.

Xavier was finally dressed and picked up his phone.

Just then, the phone rang again.

He glanced at it, rejected the call, and then looked at her, motionless.

Aveline said coldly, Take your clothes with you.

Xavier said flatly, Get a bag and put them in it for me,

I don’t have one.

Then I’ll just leave them here.

Aveline went to the closet, took out a paper bag, and tossed it to Xavier.

Xavier picked it up. See? You could have just given this to me earlier. Do you really get a kick out of opposing me?

He put the trench coat, shirt, and pants into the bag.

Aveline watched him, noticing the underwear was missing. Then she remembered: the underwear he had washed last night was hanging in the bathroom.

And the one in the bathroom.

Xavier smiled, Thanks for remembering for me. My wife is so thoughtful.

Aveline told herself again to stay calm, to treat his words like bullshit.

He was right about one thing, getting a divorce wasn’t that easy.

But if you really want a divorce, you can definitely get one.

Xavier was a big shot; he couldn’t let his divorce become a huge public scandal.

He might even ask the court to keep it confidential if it went to trial.

When Xavier came out of the bathroom with his underwear, Aveline opened the door, signaling for him to leave quickly.

Xavier stood in front of Aveline, his eyes lowered, looking at her.

Aveline frowned slightly, What else do

you

want?

Did you get your period?

What’s it to you?

This doctor is an expert. You should go see her. It’s a female doctor.

As he spoke, Xavier took out his wallet, pulled out a business card, and handed it to Aveline.

Aveline kept a cold face and didn’t take it. Get out. I have to go to work.

Xavier smiled and stuffed the card into her pants pocket. Go get it checked out. Don’t neglect your health.

Aveline forced herself to stay still, maintaining her cold demeanor.

I’ll pick you up tomorrow afternoon.

Just as Xavier finished speaking, the door to the next room opened.
