At around 4 pm, Xavier finished the meeting and went back to his office.
Claude followed him in and reported on the progress of the work, one of which was the Mount Ardwood Theme Park project.
Xavier asked, “Any news from Bernard?”
Claude answered, “Mr. Barron said that Mr. Clarke had a project on hand abroad and wasn’t available, but he recom- mended his alumna. It’s said that she has won an international architectural design award and is very talented and ca- pable. Mr. Barron said that Mr. Clarke will introduce her to him when he returns. And Mr. Barron asked if you want to join when they meet.”
The alumna that Bernard recommended should be very capable, and Xavier would like to meet her. But he said light- ly, “We’ll talk after the time is settled. See if I’m free at that time.”
After reporting, Claude got out.
Just then, Lauren called, and Xavier picked up. “Mom.”
“When will Aveline be here? She’s still nowhere to be seen!”
Lauren sounded very angry.
Xavier frowned, asking, “You asked her to go to see you today?”
“I called her last night, but she didn’t answer, so I texted her. But she also didn’t reply to me. I thought she would come today.
“She’s really put on some airs after marrying you. What does she want?”
Xavier asked Lauren, “What are you gonna talk to her about?”
“It’s between her and me. None of your business,”
Xavier said lightly, “Alright. None of your business. Got it. Bye.”
After working hours, Jasmine and Julian left. When Aveline was packing up her things, Helena suddenly called her.
Thinking that it might be something urgent, Aveline answered the call.
Helena said, “Mrs. Beltran, your father, Mr. Sutton, has just come. He wanted to see you, but I told him that you were not at home. Then, he left, looking very angry and scary.”

Aveline guessed that Jacob should be there for the matter of her taking those paintings from the Sutton’s villa that day.
She had moved out of Winslow Heights, and they thought she had moved into Parkview Estates.
But she had already divorced, so how could she possibly keep living in Parkview Estates?
Suddenly, Aveline thought that although Xavier bought the villa at Parkview Estates with full payment, her name was also on the property certificate, so she was still the hostess of that villa.
Maybe Jacob thought that she didn’t wanna move out of Parkview Estates.
And maybe that was what all the Beltrans thought.
“Okay, I know about this time. If someone goes to Parkview Estates to look for me, just tell them I don’t live there,” Aveline said.
“Got it, Mrs. Beltran,” Helena replied.
Aveline also wanted to tell Helena not to keep calling her “Mrs. Beltran” anymore. But then, they thought it was too troublesome and gave up.
After she hung up the phone, Jacob’s call came in.
Aveline naturally wouldn’t answer it.
She dialed her grandparents‘ number, and Miranda answered the call. Aveline asked, “Did Jacob come to my grand- parents today?”
Miranda answered, “Yes. I heard from the security guards. But they didn’t let him in.”
Previously, Aveline was afraid that Jacob, Courtney, and Josephine would go to Collin and Paulina to cause trouble, so Aveline had already registered with the community management office and put the three of them on the visitor blacklist.
“Good. He came to cause trouble because I took my mom’s paintings. Emphasize it to the security again. Make sure that he can never enter that residential area,” Aveline said.
“Got it,” Miranda replied seriously. Then, she went to the security.
While Aveline was on the phone with Miranda, Jacob’s text came in. After Aveline hung up, she clicked to check his
texts.
Jacob: “You ungrateful brat! How dare you steal my paintings while I wasn’t at home! Give them back to me!”
Jacob: “Those are my paintings, not yours! Your mother said she would leave them all to me after she died.”
