Then, he said to the driver, “To Granvia Restaurant.”

A few minutes later, after Xavier walked into the private room at Granvia Restaurant, Josephine was surprised and immediately trotted over to hold his arm.

“Darling, you were lying when you said you had something else to do, right? You just wanna give me a surprise.”

Xavier gave a faint smile and didn’t say anything. He then walked to sit next to Gerald.

And Josephine went to sit next to Xavier.

Gerald smiled at Xavier, “Now that you’ve come, Josie can finally enjoy this meal.”

Josephine shot a look at Gerald. Then, she took the bottle and poured Xavier a glass of wine.

In the private room, Vincent, Eileen, and several members of the PR team watched this scene with smiles on their faces.

Xavier suddenly looked at Gerald and said, “I’ll have something to say to you after dinner.”

Gerald laughed, “What is it? Why not say it now?”

Xavier didn’t respond. He took the wine and took a sip of it.

Josephine, while putting food on his plate, said, “Darling, I also have something to say to you.”

Xavier put down his wine glass and picked up the fork. “What is it?”

“I heard that Bernard is abroad and can’t undertake the design project for Mount Ardwood Theme Park. So, I’d like to recommend a very capable architect to you.”

Hearing Josephine’s words, Xavier glanced at Gerald.

Gerald smiled, “Yes, I told her. It wasn’t a big deal. Anyway, the person Josie recommends must be very good.”

Josephine held Xavier’s arm and said in a sweet voice, “Xav, just take a look at that man’s resume first, okay?”

Xavier replied lightly, “Fine. Send me his resume.”

Josephine grinned and then continued picking up food for Xavier.

Marjorie envied Josephine for having Xavier’s favoritism. She wanted to take a photo of Xavier, but she didn’t dare.

So, in the end, she just took a photo of the dishes on the table and posted it on her Instagram.

After finishing the meal, Xavier and Gerald went to sit on the couch.

Gerald handed Xavier a cigarette and smiled as he looked at the dining area, saying, “Look how happy Josie is now. Before you came, she was very down.”

Xavier smoked and glanced over. Then, he said to Gerald, “You go draft that agreement. I have to give Aveline some- thing.”

Gerald frowned. “But she didn’t ask anything from you, did she? She said she loved you, so you shouldn’t want your money.”

Xavier just said lightly, “I’ll give you a list later. Draft the agreement based on that.”

Seeing that Xavier was looking at Josephine when he said these words, Gerald nodded. “If only this could satisfy Aveline. Hope she won’t cause trouble for you and Josie.”

He believed that Xavier wouldn’t give half of his wealth to Aveline. He might probably offer tens of millions of dol- lars to make Aveline stay away from him, so that he could be with Josephine openly and honestly.

“After the draft is out, send it to Fiona, and let Fiona send it to her. After she confirms everything, we’ll sign it.”

Aveline leaned against the head of the bed, reading through the information about the Mount Ardwood Theme Park project.

Before bedtime, she opened her Instagram and scrolled up. Suddenly, she saw Eileen’s post with a picture.

“What a perfect match. I really hope to see the day of their wedding. I’ve already got their wedding gifts ready!”

In the picture were a man’s and a woman’s backs, with the woman holding onto the man’s arm.

Without even zooming in, Aveline knew that it was Xavier and Josephine in the picture.

She thought ironically, “He’s really busy, having dinner with her while texting me to ask where I was.”

Expressionless, she kept scrolling up.

Just then, Jasmine texted her. She closed her Instagram and checked the message.

Jasmine first sent her a screenshot and then a text. “I saw this on Marjorie’s Instagram. Shit! You know what? Josephine took away your Mount Ardwood Theme Park project!”

Aveline clicked that screenshot.

The picture showed a table of sumptuous food. Aveline recognized that it was Granvia Restaurant because she had gone there to eat with the Beltran family several times, and Xavier was a VIP guest.

Marjorie didn’t capture any faces, but she captured a man’s left hand holding a glass of red wine. The man’s fingers were long and thin, and he was wearing a Rolex watch on his wrist.

Marjorie said on her Instagram: “I’m so jealous. Ms. Sutton has a big shot who dotes on her so much. Just saying some sweet words could let that big shot give the Mount Ardwood Theme Park project to the architect she recom- mended.”

Jasmine texted: “What great architects could Josephine possibly know? But Xavier just gave her the project like that? That’s ridiculous! He’s simply wasting a project worth billions to just make Josephine smile.”

Aveline looked at Jasmine’s message for a long time, feeling so complicated in her heart.

In the end, she sighed.

She thought that if Xavier really did that, it meant that his love for Josephine was far beyond her imagination.

She was right to have decided to leave Xavier. She couldn’t win when her opponent was Josephine.

Aveline replied to Jasmine: “Let’s talk about it after Bernard comes back. The Beltran Group hasn’t rejected Bernard’s recommendation, so we still have the chance to win it.”
