Chapter 32
Xavier was sitting in an armchair, reading a business magazine. He looked up at the commotion, saw Josephine’s bit- ter smile, and said:
“She’s just a kid, don’t take it to heart. I’ll talk to her later.”
Josephine walked over to Xavier and sat on the arm of his armchair, smiling. “How could I possibly hold a grudge against a child? It’s fine, you don’t have to say anything to her. She didn’t mean it.
It’s just that in my eyes, Valentina is still a little kid who needs to be looked after.”
Xavier gave a faint smile and said nothing more, his gaze shifting to Aveline.
Aveline heard them talking but didn’t look at them, only catching the movement in her peripheral vision. Her expres- sion was cool and indifferent, as if it was nothing to her.
She touched a cupcake, felt that it wasn’t as hot anymore, and turned back to the kitchen to make the Savory Fried
Rice.
Valentina came back after washing her hands, picked up a cupcake with a grin, and called out, “Aunt, I’m eating
now.”
Aveline replied from the kitchen, “Mm, okay, be careful it’s not too hot.”
Valentina took a bite. “Wow, this is delicious.”
Then she looked at Xavier. “Uncle, you should have one too. It’s really good, and it’s not hot anymore.”
Xavier shifted his gaze from the magazine to Valentina and smiled. “Mm, okay.”
Josephine pressed her lips together, got off the arm of the armchair, and reached for a cupcake. “Let me feed it to you.”
Then she was about to bring the cupcake in her hand to Xavier’s mouth.
Valentina frowned. “Josie, you’re not my aunt, so you can’t feed my uncle. That’s not right.”
Josephine didn’t expect Valentina to think that way and scold her for it, and she froze.
Xavier reached out, took the cupcake, and took a bite. Looking at Valentina, he smiled and said, “Mm, it is pretty good.
Don’t glare at Josie. Keep eating.”
Although Aveline in the kitchen didn’t see what was happening, she heard what Valentina said.

The hand holding the spatula paused for a moment. With an expressionless face, she continued to stir–fry the rice.
This Savory Fried Rice didn’t just have egg; it also had carrots, corn, and ham, making it more nutritious and balanced for a child.
She also made Clear Fish Broth.
Afterwards, she placed everything on the dining table, took off her apron, and walked out.
“Valentina, the Savory Fried Rice is ready, and there’s Clear Fish Broth. Your aunt is leaving now.”
Valentina had eaten two cupcakes. Even though they were delicious, she didn’t dare have more, saving room for the Savory Fried Rice. She was watching cartoons at the moment.
Hearing what Aveline said, she was taken aback for a moment and asked, “Aunt, aren’t you going to eat with me and Uncle?”
Xavier also looked up at Aveline, his expression faint, his dark eyes as still as an old well. He didn’t say a word.
Still sitting on the arm of the sofa, Josephine sneered.
Aveline grabbed her purse, ignoring the other two and looking at Valentina, “Yeah, your aunt doesn’t live here any- more. If you ever want my cooking or snacks again, Valentina, just contact me directly.”
Josephine got off the arm of the sofa and walked over to Valentina, “Valentina, Aunt Josie will eat with you and your uncle. Come on, let’s go to the dining room, or the Savory Fried Rice will get cold and won’t be good.”
Valentina glanced at Josephine, pouting, “But I want to eat with Aveline.”
Josephine sighed dramatically, “But she doesn’t want to eat with you.
