Urging Him to Get a Divorce novel Chapter 80

Chapter 80

Aveline frowned slightly and gave him a cold look, silently questioning his intentions.

Xavier acted as if he didn’t see her expression and said to Miranda, Those boxes of Wagyu beef can be put in the fridge. The fish and crab are very fresh, so let’s steam them for Collin and Paulina today.

Miranda nodded and said, Alright, I’ll go prepare lunch now.

Paulina pulled Aveline down to sit beside her and said, Xavier is so thoughtful. He brought a lot of things, all fa- vorites of mine and your grandfather’s.

Aveline glanced at Xavier and saw the faint hint of a smile on his lips as he looked at her.

She pressed her lips together and said nothing.

How could Xavier possibly know what her grandparents liked? He had never tried to please them like this before. He must have asked Jacob, and Jacob told him what they liked.

Xavier definitely had a motive for this visit.

Aveline remembered that in her rush to get inside, she had forgotten the things she bought. She stood up. I’m going to get something from the car.

She walked outside, went to the front yard, opened the car door to get her things, and when she returned to the living room, Xavier was gone.

Where is he?

Collin replied, He went upstairs. Said he drank last night and didn’t sleep well, so he’s going to lie down in your room for a bit.

Aveline’s expression turned a little cold. She put the things down. I’ll go up and check on him.

Paulina and Collin exchanged a look, then she said, Aveline, I don’t know if you’re fighting with Xavier, but you two should talk things out properly, okay?

Aveline gave a faint mm.

The door to her bedroom on the second floor was cracked open. Aveline pushed it open and went in, seeing Xavier standing in front of the wall, looking at a painting.

Her mother had painted it. It showed an eighteenyearold Aveline sitting in the yard, holding a small wooden boat and gazing at it affectionately.

The small wooden boat was actually carved by Xavier. He had left it in the Entora University library, and Aveline had found it.

Her mother didn’t know the truth, so she painted the scene of her daughter’s youthful crush.

Aveline didn’t keep the small wooden boat. The next day, she had Xavier’s roommate return it. This was the first time Xavier had been in this bedroom, and the first time he had seen this painting.

Aveline looked at his blank expression and guessed he probably didn’t remember the small wooden boat.

Hearing the noise, Xavier turned his head, his dark eyes deep and his face expressionless.

Aveline said coldly, What do you want?

Xavier gestured toward the painting with his chin and said, Your mom painted this. It’s pretty good.

Aveline’s face was blank. If my mom didn’t paint it, did Jacob buy it?

Xavier knew she was being sarcastic about the time she went to the Sutton family’s house to get the paintings and Josephine claimed Jacob had bought them. He just smiled, not really caring.

Where’s your phone?

Aveline gave him a cold look, as if to say, Why are you randomly asking about my phone?

Xavier said, Let me see your phone.

Aveline thought he had sent her a message, so she took her phone out of her jeans pocket.

Just then, Xavier walked up to her and snatched her phone away.

Aveline was caught off guard and blurted out, What are you doing?
