Aveline took the phone back, put it in her pocket, and said coldly, “Can you leave now?”

Who she blocked was none of his business.

Xavier glanced around the room and said, “You really do like the color blue.”

After saying that, he finally started to walk out.

Aveline did indeed like blue. Her rooms had always been blue and white since she was a child, she’d bought a blue car, and she often wore blue jeans year–round.

But in the house at Winslow Heights, the bedroom she slept in had a color scheme that Xavier had chosen, so she couldn’t possibly change it.

Aveline laughed. “That’s your real goal, isn’t it?”

You could have just said Parkview Estates from the start. Why bother beating around the bush?

Xavier laughed too. “We’ll sign the agreement only after you’ve moved in.”

With that, he walked ahead and went downstairs.

His smile was mocking, as if saying, “That’s right, this is my plan,” and Aveline was powerless against him.

When Collin and Paulina saw them coming downstairs one after the other, they noticed their calm expressions and as- sumed they hadn’t fought. The elderly couple both sighed in relief.

Lunch was lavish. Collin loved seafood, and the seafood Xavier had brought was fresh and plentiful. With Miranda’s excellent cooking, the old man ate very happily.

Paulina preferred meat and vegetables. Xavier had brought Wagyu beef and lamb, so Miranda stir–fried a dish of the beef and stewed the lamb in an earthenware casserole pot. The old woman was also very satisfied.

During the meal, Aveline told the elderly couple, “I’m planning to move to Parkview Estates. I’ll be closer to you, so I can visit often.”

Collin also gave Xavier some shrimp, and Xavier smiled his thanks.

Then, unexpectedly, Xavier placed a piece of lamb on Aveline’s plate.

Aveline thought he was really putting on an act lately. She looked away coldly, eating only the shrimp.

When she was done, she left the lamb untouched and put down her fork.

Paulina quickly asked, “Why aren’t you eating it?”

Aveline said, “I’m full.”

Xavier glanced at her, smiled, then reached over to her plate, took the piece of lamb, and ate it himself.
