Chapter 94
Xavier must have told the female assistant not to follow. He was out here now, so she would just wait for him to say what he’d been holding in all day.
To her surprise, Xavier just walked beside her without saying a word, as if he really just happened to be going to the
restroom too.
Aveline went into the restroom, frowning slightly. Could it be? she thought. Does he really have nothing to say to me?
However, when she came out of the restroom, she saw Xavier leaning against the hallway wall with his arms crossed over his chest.
The movement tightened his well–tailored suit, making his tall frame look even leaner. His deep, dark eyes watched her, as still as an ancient well.
Aveline walked over with a blank expression.
Xavier straightened up, blocking her path in a single step and looking down at her.
Aveline looked up, her round, almond–shaped eyes meeting his with a cold glint. “Mr. Beltran, are you drunk? Why are you blocking my way?”
Xavier chuckled and said, “Don’t want to sign the agreement anymore?”
Aveline said coldly, “If you take it out right now, I’ll sign it right now.”
Xavier laughed again. “You know I couldn’t possibly have it on me. Is there any point in saying that on purpose?”
You just don’t want to sign, do you?”
Aveline sneered, “We should have signed this ages ago. You were the one who wanted to redraft the terms, so what right do you have to say I don’t want to sign?”
Xavier kept staring at her, his dark eyes looking as if they could see right through her and into her heart.
“Then why haven’t you moved to Parkview Estates?
It’s been several days now, hasn’t it?
Or would you rather move to Winslow Heights?”
Aveline found it ironic and scoffed, “You think I want to move to Winslow Heights?”
Xavier shrugged. “I’ve already told you, Winslow Heights or Parkview Estates, either is fine. As soon as you move back, we’ll sign the agreement.”

Aveline said coldly, “I’m not signing the agreement anymore. Let’s just go straight to the Registry Office and get a di- vorce. I don’t want anything, that should be acceptable, right?”
The divorce agreement she had Fiona send him was just half a page of terms where she was waiving all claims to marital assets, but he insisted on redrafting it. Now he had the nerve to blame her, questioning if she was the one who didn’t want to sign or get a divorce.
Aveline looked at Xavier with eyes as cold as ice.
Xavier’s dark eyes narrowed, and he stared at her deeply.
He chuckled, “That won’t do. If the Patriarch finds out, he’ll kill me.
You should move quickly. I bet the Patriarch will be checking up on you soon.”
Aveline gave him a cold glance, walked around him, and continued on her way.
Back in the private dining room, Aveline stopped drinking. No matter how well she could hold her liquor, drinking too much was bad for her health.
Xavier returned to his seat and continued chatting with Bernard, barely looking at her anymore.
Aveline finally understood. He had said what he wanted to say, so of course he wouldn’t keep thinking about it and glancing at her from time to time.
