Chapter 329
“Honey, you need to meet Skylar’s son, Aidyn,” her mom said as Olivia wished that the tan minivan in front of her would drive faster so that she could escape this conversation. “He is such a kind young man. I don’t know how Aidyn has managed to stay unmarried for so long. He’s such a catch. I’ve met him on numerous occasions and he would be perfect for you.”
“Honey,” DeAngelo said to his wife in a low tone. “Do you really think that Olivia should be jumping into a new relationship? She just went through a divorce.”
Olivia stayed silent as she parked the car in a busy shopping center. Her parents had no idea that she was in a relationship with her boss, and she was planning on keeping it that way.
As Olivia and her parents got out of the car, Stanley was in a few cars over, peeling an orange for his daughter Nora’s afternoon snack. Nora was the first one to notice Olivia, and she frowned.
“That’s the girl who kept me away from my brother,” she grumbled.
Stanley looked up to see who his daughter was talking about, and his eyes sparked with pleasure when he saw Olivia. She reminded him so much of his first wife who had passed away in that awful car accident. He had been wanting to see her again before he left New York, but he was afraid of tracking her down because he didn’t want to scare the poor girl.
“Why are you smiling at the mean girl, Dad?” Nora said from the passenger seat as she took the peeled orange that her father was handing her. “When I saw her, she did her best to keep me away from my brother.”
Stanley tilted his head to the side as he attempted to decipher what Nora had just said. As she ate her snack, his eyes widened when he remembered that Nora had been in Alexander’s complex. Then, after Stanley had called Neil, Alexander had been kind enough to arrange to bring his daughter safely back home. That must have been where Nora had met Olivia.
As Stanley watched Olivia walk away with an older couple he didn’t recognize, he sighed in longing, wondering if she was the reincarnation of his first wife.

“I really don’t like that girl,” Nora muttered to her father after she finished her orange, filling the car with a citrus scent. “She was very rude to me when I tried to spend time with my brother.” She sniffed and crossed her arms.

Stanley smiled kindly at his daughter. “Honey, Olivia is a nice girl. She is Alexander’s girlfriend.”
“My brother has a girlfriend? Ew.”
He chuckled. “She’s nice. I’ve met her. Also, remember what your mother and I told you? Alexander is not your brother. He’s just a nice man who made sure you got home safe a week ago. If you’re ever in an emergency situation, you can always call Alexander or Richard, the nice man who brought you home that night. Richard works for Alexander, and he can be trusted. I put both men’s phone numbers in your phone last night.”
