Chapter 251

Troy spun Teresa around and around in his arms, clearly in no hurry to stop.
Teresa’s head was spinning–she felt so dizzy she was seriously about to puke.
She patted his shoulder and said, “Troy, stop it. I’m gonna throw up.”
As soon as he heard that, Troy came to a halt.

When Troy tried to set Teresa down, he lost his balance, and with an awkward tumble, they both ended up sprawled across the bed- him half on top of her.
Tall and solid as he was, Troy fell towards her but quickly planted his hands on either side of Teresa, making sure she didn’t get hurt beneath his weight.
With that effort, his body still pressed close–his face, chest, and the unmistakable hardness against her made the air between them heat up in an instant.
Teresa wore nothing but a thin, silky nightgown,
The light scent of her body wash lingered around her, and her long, seaweed–like hair fanned out across the pillow. With all the movement, the nightgown clung even tighter to her, tracing her soft curves in the low light.
Troy’s body was pressed close to hers, and the sheer allure radiating from Teresa completely short–circuited his thoughts. For a moment, he couldn’t think at all.
His face and body burned with a wild, uncontrollable heat.
Teresa, still aching from where she’d landed, reached out to push Troy away. But he was unmoving–her hand only felt the heat pouring off him and noticed the subtle, unmistakable changes in his body.
Teresa’s face lit up a furious red. She turned her head, refusing to look at him, but still mumbled in a low, embarrassed voice, “Troy, could you get up?”
Troy’s thoughts were all over the place; he was so rattled he wasn’t even sure if he’d managed to say anything in reply.
Troy stammered, “O–okay.”
Then he lifted himself off her and sat down at her side.
Even now, just sitting nearby, Teresa’s scent seemed to sneak into his every breath.
Her scent was like opium, utterly intoxicating–he couldn’t get enough.
Teresa quickly straightened her nightgown, cleared her throat, and asked, “Aren’t you supposed to be at the hospital with your mom?”
She sat up too, leaning against the headboard. Her eyes were filled with confusion as she stared at Troy’s back.
Feeling her gaze burning into him, Troy still didn’t dare turn around. He answered, voice a little awkward, “She was the one who asked me to come check on you”
Teresa spoke gently. “You should go back.”
Troy shook his head stubbornly. “I came here to be with you. You can’t get rid of me that easily.”
Before Teresa could respond. Troy suddenly turned to her, his eyes full of pleading. “Just for a little while.”
Teresa let out a helpless sigh. “It’s the middle of the night–how exactly do you want to keep me company?”
Troy froze for a heartbeat.
Then, a wicked smile spread across his face as he leaned in close, voice dropping to a low tease. “Honestly, I could stay right here tonight. If you’re curious to by something new. I wouldn’t mind showing you the ropes
There was no mistaking what he was huting at–Teresa distantly got it

Her cheeks flushed with indignation, and she shot back, “You’re unbelievable.”
Troy had that unmistakable bad–boy smirk plastered on his face, his grin full of cheeky swagger.
He slowly edged closer to Teresa, clearly out to mess with her, his every move dripping with playful intent.
Teresa instinctively stepped back, her eyes wide and completely on guard.

Just as Troy was about to press right up against her, he suddenly froze, tensing up. He cocked his head, listening hard for something. then asked, “Did you hear that?”
Teresa watched him warily, her brows knitting together. “What noise?”
Troy pointed at the wall toward the next room. “Listen closely.”
Seeing Troy act so intent made Teresa a bit curious herself.
She copied him, leaning in to listen just like he did.
But the moment she heard what was going on next door, Teresa’s cheeks burned scarlet. She practically sputtered at Troy, “You–you’re shameless doesn’t even begin to cover it!”
Troy flashed that trademark bad–boy grin, then suddenly grabbed Teresa’s hand, pressing it firmly over his chest. He looked at her, voice full of swagger. “If you’re willing, we could give the neighbors a little something to talk about.”
Teresa saw he wouldn’t let it drop, so she met his eyes and replied seriously–with just a hint of challenge, “If you really think you can handle it, then go ahead.”
Troy’s eyes sparkled with surprise. “Really?”
But a second later, disappointment spread across his face.
Troy straightened up, a storm brewing in his chest. “You…” He tried to say something, but couldn’t get the words out.
‘Damn, why can’t I just spit it out?‘ Troy fumed silently, anger burning inside him–yet his throat just locked up, the words stuck and choking.
Troy finally stood, facing away from Teresa. But he couldn’t hold it in–he spun back to look at her, frustration written all over his face. “You know exactly how much I care about you, Teresa. I like you–I worry about you—and I’d never hurt you. But you keep taking advantage of that, just twisting the knife deeper every time. How many times do you think I can keep letting you walk all over me before I finally snap? Seriously, do you think I can just keep treating you this well forever?”
Teresa gave a bitter little laugh. She almost wanted to tell Troy he didn’t have to treat her so well, but before she could say a word, he actually sinacked himself on the mouth in exasperation.
“I’m just hopeless.” Troy grumbled, a note of self–mockery in his voice. “No matter how many times you tear my heart to pieces, I can’t help but want to be good to you.”
Teresa just sat there, dazed, her mind going fuzzy for a moment.
Who wouldn’t be moved by words like that?
If she didn’t know why Troy really wanted to get close to her, Teresa thought wryly, she probably would’ve completely fallen for him by
now
After a moment lost in thought. Teresa lowered her voice and said. “You should go. I want to rest now.”
Troy glared at her, his eyes red and filled with a mournful, resentful hurt
Troy glared at Teresa for a long moment, his frustration far from cased. Suddenly, he strode forward, seized the back of her head, and all but pulled her straight into his chest.
He didn’t even bother with a kiss–he leaned in and gave her earlobe a hard, punishing bite.
Teresa gave a muffled gasp, unable to stop the pain from slipping out
When Troy finally let go, his voice was rough with anger. “That’s payback for what you owe me
