Chapter 10
“Call the police.” James shielded her behind him, his face cold,
The investigation results came back quickly this man had been paid by Derek to do it.
Derek confessed without hesitation and said he could pay for damages.
But the wedding dresses were already ruined.
Derek looked at her smugly. “Kate, so you want to marry someone else? I’ll destroy every wedding dress you try on! I’ve got money I’m not afraid to pay! But you’ll never find a wedding dress that works!”
Kate slapped him hard across the face.
“Derek, you keep setting new lows for yourself. You’re absolutely shameless!”
Fortunately, James had already had a custom dress made for her that was almost finished.
That evening, Kate went to the underground garage to get something but was cornered by Derek.
“Kate, I want to show you something. Once you see it, you’ll definitely forgive me.”
Derek pulled out a video.
As soon as he played it, piercing female screams echoed throughout the garage.
“Stay away… ah! Don’t come near me, I’m begging you… please spare me…”
Ashley was sobbing hysterically, accompanied by men’s sinister laughter. It made Kate feel sick. “Why are you showing me this?”
Derek said ingratiatingly, “Weren’t you always bothered by my thing with Ashley? Look, I already got revenge for you. I had some guys sleep with Ashley. Can you please stop being mad at me?”
Kate looked at him like she’d seen a ghost.
What kind of person does something like this?
Was Derek even human?!
She ran away quickly, her panicked voice reaching the man’s ears and making him suffer.
“Derek, stop pestering me, I’m begging you. I really don’t want to be with you anymore. I hate you – just thinking about you makes me sick!”
“And stop hurting other people in my name! I don’t care about you and Ashley! Don’t drag me into your evil!”
She ran so fast, like a flood or wild beast was chasing her.
Derek stood there stunned, feeling his heart break in two.
To avoid any more complications, James and Kate decided to move up their wedding.
It was a grand affair with distinguished guests filling the hall.

Chapter 10
Kate appeared in a top–tier custom wedding dress, breathtakingly beautiful.
James held her hand as they went table to table toasting. Everyone praised them as a perfect match,
“I heard Mr. Hayes and his wife are childhood sweethearts with an arranged engagement since they were kids. What a perfect couple!”
“Exactly! Mr. Hayes dotes on his wife so much even the wedding dress was made by a top international designer. Did you see that diamond ring? Mr. Hayes bid sky–high for it at auction!”
There were also some discordant voices. “Didn’t I hear Mrs. Hayes was married before? Doesn’t that make Mr. Hayes a rebound guy?”
When James heard this, his expression immediately darkened.
He pulled over the embarrassed–looking Kate and announced loudly, “Thank you all for taking time out of your busy schedules to attend my and Kate’s wedding. There are some things I’d like to clarify.”
He turned to look at the girl beside him, his gaze tender and loving. “Years ago, Kate lost her memory in a car accident, and we were separated for several years. During those years I kept searching for her, but unfortunately it took until now.”
“I failed Kate by not finding her sooner and letting her suffer for so many years. Now she’s finally back by my side as my wife, and I’ll spend my life protecting and cherishing her.”
“Kate, I love you. Will you marry me?”
He knelt on one knee as thunderous applause erupted below.
“We misunderstood! Look how happy this couple is! You must stay happy forever!”
Amid the shower of praise, Kate’s eyes welled up with tears.
She took his hand and said, “I do-”
“Kate!”
A breathless male voice interrupted as Derek burst in, disrupting the wedding ceremony.
He looked urgently at Kate. “Kate, don’t marry him!”
