Kate had been feeling like someone was following her these past few days, but she wasn’t sure if it was just her imagination.

When she told James, he looked thoughtful and said, “I’ll handle it.”

That very night, he had his men corner Derek in the underground garage.

“So you’re the one? You lied to Kate, told her she was your fiancée, and wasted all those years of her life?”

Derek laughed coldly. “Wasted? Kate doesn’t think it was a waste. James, you probably don’t know this, but Kate was crazy about me! Even when she left at the end, it was because she was jealous. Deep down, she’ll always love me the most!”

“So what if you two were childhood sweethearts? All those years together still can’t compare to my three years with her!”

One of the Sullivan family bodyguards hit Derek’s leg with a club, making him double over in pain.

James personally took the club and hit him again.

He looked down at Derek coldly. “I’m sparing your life only because you saved Kate once. If you dare follow her again, next time it won’t just be a beating!”

When James came home that night, Kate asked, “How did you scrape your hand?”

Then she lovingly applied iodine to his wound. “Be more careful next time!”

James looked at her with adoration. “Okay.”

The next day, Kate went to Sullivan Group to bring her fiancé lunch.

She’d only walked a few steps when a stranger handed her a flower. “Ms. Kate, happy anniversary.”

She accepted the flower, confused.

A few more steps and she got another flower with the exact same message.

By the time she reached the company, she’d received ten flowers.

The last one was delivered personally by Derek, who popped out from some corner. “Kate, surprise!”

“Today marks five years since we met. These eleven flowers represent my devoted love for you!”

Kate frowned. “Why are you here?”

Derek smiled ingratiatingly. “Kate, you’ve been throwing this tantrum long enough. Time to stop being mad. I came specially to take you home…”

Home? Kate laughed sarcastically. “Haven’t you lied to me enough already? The Stone house was never my home, and I’m never going back.”

Derek looked crushed. “Kate, I admit I lied about your identity, but I truly love you! My feelings for you are real!”

“Your so–called true love means bringing Ashley into our home while we were married, sleeping with her, doing everything married couples do, even making me stay on different floors of the same hotel?”

“During my last three days there, you were off vacationing in Norway with Ashley. She posted something every single day that only I could see – showing off your relationship, showing off the condoms you used!”

“Derek, if that’s what you call true love, then your love is pretty damn cheap!”

After saying this, Kate threw the flowers in the trash.

She coldly added, “I already have a fiancé. Don’t come looking for me anymore!”

Derek watched her leave, his eyes full of resentment… and something sinister.

Damn it, how dare Ashley!

She actually dared to provoke Kate behind his back!

He immediately called back home. “Report everything Ashley’s been doing lately, and suspend all business dealings with the Park family immediately!”

After hanging up, he contacted some underworld connections to have Ashley kidnapped.

He believed that as long as he severely punished Ashley and Kate’s anger subsided, she would definitely forgive him.

She would come back to his side.

She had to.

That day, James took Kate to pick out wedding dresses.

With each one she tried on, James’s eyes grew more amazed. “Kate, you’re absolutely stunning!”

Kate blushed from all the compliments. “You say that about every dress. Which one should we buy?”

“All of them.”

James said, “You can wear whichever one you want.”

Kate touched the soft wedding dress fabric with tears in her eyes. Though she’d been married before, she’d never worn a wedding
