You Looked Down on Me Once, Now You Look Up. novel Chapter 340

“The Judy you thought was family? She’s already stabbed you in the back more times than you can count.”

Patricia slowly powered off her phone and set it aside. “My guess? She’s probably sitting in a police interrogation room right now, rattling off every ‘crime’ you and yours have ever committed.”

“If your lovely mother-in-law decides to drag you down with her, don’t be surprised if you get a few more years added to your sentence.”

Kelly’s eyes went wide, shock written all over her face. She looked at Patricia like she was seeing a ghost. That face, usually so smooth and perfect, was now lined with fear, twisted and haunted. She looked trapped, caught in a nightmare Patricia had built just for her.

Patricia hung up, watching as Kelly lost it on the other side of the glass. Kelly started pounding her fists, looking like she wanted to break through and tear Patricia apart. It didn’t last long. A guard came over and held Kelly down, barking at her to calm down.

With her cheek pressed against the cold metal table, tears of rage leaked from the corner of Kelly’s eyes. She glared at Patricia, desperate for some kind of last stand.

Patricia just mouthed three words, silent but sharp: “You lost.”

Five years ago, right after Patricia married Theo, Kelly had mocked her, humiliated her, said things that cut deeper than any knife. Patricia had warned her then—told her not to push her luck.

But Kelly just sneered. “Stop dreaming. What can a cripple like you possibly do to me?”

Well, look at her now. The so-called cripple was the one who sent her straight to prison.

Mrs. Newton? Big deal.

Patricia wasn’t planning to let the Newton family matriarch off easy, either.

As soon as she got in the car, Jackson twisted open a thermos and handed it to her. “Drink some hot water. Warm up a bit.”

“Thanks,” Patricia said quietly.

Jackson hesitated, holding out a folder. “This is Amy’s file. Should we give her a warning?”

“No need. Every actress dreams of marrying into money. Let her chase that fantasy.”

“We’ve done enough with the Newtons for now. Let them catch their breath. Once the stuff with grandma hits, they’ll have their hands full.”
